2013 new syndicated shows

I'd love to see one or two of the Showtime or Starz series hit the big time on off-network syndication.
And how about Oz from HBO?

The last one was Crosswords or on GSN.

Scripps and Warner Bros. were planning on expanding "Let's Ask America" to wide distribution. Those plans must have been scrapped, along with MGM trying to sell "Right This Minute" (another Scripps co-production).

I would love to see "The Sopranos" ,White Collar on syndication and WWE Superstars ,TNA Xplosion and Ring of Honor Wrestling on more stations those shows can fill a hour of airtime on the weekends(more likely on CW ,My Network TV stations that rarely have anything on besides infomericials on weekends).

White Collar is on My Network TV.

I would like to see Clarrisa Explains it All and so on repeats shown on a Major Network.

Bill Cunningham started on Tribune-only stations in 2011-12. Then moved to the CW...

I hope this show does not get renewed for another season.

As for a post that mentioned a syndicated version of The Price Is Right; hasn't this been tried at least 3 times already? The last time I remember my local CBS O&O carrying the syndicated version (WBBM-TV carried the syndicated version at 3pm, while the network version to this day is still on at 10am), hosted by Doug Davidson. That version didn't last long at all. I didn't even like how that version was done, & only being a half hour.

All syndicated versions of "The Price Is Right" have been 30 minutes. A 60-minute version likely wouldn't work, at least as a daily show---in Eastern time, it would have to clear nights 7-8pm, and some stations still have news, either network or local, at 7 pm. The Price Is Right PTB would never (IMO) allow afternoon clearance, and they sure wouldn't compete against CBS' own version close to 11am ET.

The Davidson version (1994) is better left unsaid. It basically falls under the What-Were-They-Thinking Dept.

I always liked the George Kennedy-hosted daily version that ran in the 84/85 season. It stayed true to the format (I can't speak for the 70s weekly Dennis James/Bob Barker version, as I was only a newborn when it was cancelled). Unfortunately, the Kennedy version came along just as syndicated "Wheel of Fortune" was taking off and "Family Feud" was ending (mostly due to WoF's ratings break-through).

Tom Kennedy. He hosted a bunch of other shows including the 1970s' "Name That Tune" and "Split Second."

The problem with OZ is it a little too dirty even edited for broadcast but if they can clean up the soparnos, Larry sanders, dream on, 1st and 10, the Gary Shandling show, Super dave, the kids in the hall, SCTV (final year on Cinemax), I bet they can make something for broadcast.

One more game show that Tom Kennedy hosted was called "Whew!" (yup that's the name).

cd

And Tom Kennedy's brother was the late Jack Narz, who hosted among other entries "Now You See It". And wasn't their brother in law Bill Cullen?

Yes on both counts. You're also forgetting Tom Kennedy's
first big hit, "You Don't Say!" (NBC, 1963-69, ABC, briefly
in 1975). Jack Narz almost saw his hosting career end as
soon as it began when "Dotto" was proved to be rigged in
1958; he passed a lie-detector test that he had no knowledge
of the outcome of any game and went on to work on "Top Dollar,"
"Video Village," "Seven Keys," "I'll Bet" (which later became "It's
Your Bet" with Tom as one of its hosts), "Beat The Clock" in its
first three years in syndication (1969-72), the syndicated "Concentration"
(1973-78, part of that time concurrently with "Now You See It"), and was
announcer and associate producer of Monty Hall's version of "Beat The Clock"
in 1979-80.

The Doug Davidson "Price Is Right" was nothing like the CBS version. One
contestant would be called out of the audience to "come on down" and play
a pricing game on-stage (none of the bidding in an attempt to work one's way
from Contestants' Row to the stage). The end game had the day's big winner
playing the Range Game, trying to price the Showcase within a certain range.
And there was a thing called "The Price Was Right," in which contestants had
to estimate how much a certain item cost in some past year. Die-hard "Price"
fans must have been shaking their heads in disbelief over what had been done to
their favorite. Anyway, the show failed to make it through the 1994-95 season.

Compared to last season there is not as many syndicated shows as there were last season. There were five talk shows and one court show, this fall there are three and two.

In Fairbanks, KTVF will have Bethenny at 3:00 (replacing Anderson Live), and that's all I know

Dunno about the other shows (especially the return of Arsenio), but by then, I will have left Alaska for newer digs in either Seattle or a much better market...ATLANTA!!!!

- Rescue 3 (Trifecta): one hour

From The Hollywood Reporter:

Dolph Lundgren Action Series Rescue 3 to Premiere in Fall 2013

Rescue 3 [is] an hourlong action-adventure drama set to premiere in fall 2013 on Tribune stations.

Have any other station groups and/or stations picked up this series? This will be the first scripted first-run syndicated series since Legend of the Seeker.

- Republic of Doyle (Trifecta): one hour

From The Telegram:

Republic of Doyle headed for U.S.

With Republic of Doyle about to start filming its fifth season, the show will soon start appearing on American television screens.

Trifecta Entertainment of Los Angeles has made a deal to distribute the show in the United States, and the show’s star says the deal will help the provincial government recoup its investment.

I'm glad to see more Canadian-made shows being distributed down here.

In the Erie, Pennsylvania market The Queen Latifah Show will be on the CBS affiliate WSEE at 4pm, The Arsenio Hall Show will be on the FOX affiliate WFXP at 11pm, am unsure of the time/channel for The Test, Bethanny, and Paternity Court. In the Cleveland, Ohio market The Queen Latifah Show, The Arsenio Hall Show will both be on the FOX affiliate WJW. Unsure of when and where The Test, Paternity Court, and Bethanny will air.
