Probably right. I suppose the same holds true for taking WNTN to a nite site at the 1510 site in Waltham?

Yes, that's always been a challenge with 1510 (WTOP 1500 and WWKB on 1520), but
890 in Dedham seems to not be troubled too much by WCBS-880.

I guess I thought that you could blow 99% of the 1550 nite signal right into the city of Boston from Newton or Waltham and have enough protection for CBE and other protected stations.

1550 with 1510 would break the record for closest-frequency AM diplex; the frequency difference is only 2.58% of the higher frequency. The current record holder and likely the one that will retire the cup is 3.125%. As they say in New York City, fuhgeddaboudit.

As for 1540, WADK in Newport RI I believe holds a CP to add night service. They will need three towers from their existing site to protect WDCD (wz-WPTR) and cover, IIRC, about 60% of Newport with 5 kW. The interference from WPTR will limit the NIF to 95 mV/m. 95!!! I think that means that WNTN would be limited to something greater than 50 mV/m.
