4 SPANISH DJ'S HAVE RECEIVED CALLS ABOUT A NEW

Didn't Emmis just hire the GM from LaLey in Chicago?

Maybe HANK will switch to a different style of Country Music (OLE')

Maybe 107.1 can dig up some of those classical albums

Having been the PD who first put spanish on WSYW {810am}, I can tell you that numbers in and of themselves are not a significant measure of the sales potential of hispanic radio. I am now the manager of a
spanish simulcast in NE Pennsylvania, and our situation is similar. We have no arbitron numbers to speak of, but the station is doing very well from the sales end. Those people who want to reach the hispanic audience, come to us, because we are the only outlet. We've had no trouble selling to agencies. As far as who might be coming to town, it is very likely that Marvin may have finally decided to sell WSYW & WEDJ. They are the only two stations he owns, and he lives in L.A. It's hard to say. But when it comes to numbers in spanish radio, it only means something if you have several stations in competition with each other. Which is really only happening in very large markets like Miami & NYC.

bingo, they need to learn to compete

from what I gather, neither property has any concept of how to move their stations forward.

That is why anyone with a decent signal could knock all those stations out of the water.

"Radio Mexicana. WYBC. Indianapolis. An Emmis Communications Station"

Wonder if WYBC could resurrect any of the heller jingles :)

Emmis will not do it the is what they are sticking with....they need numbers to pull the trigger
What Continental should do is enjoy the 1.5 good job
93.9, 95.9, 102.3
indy Radio should buy Continental move the operations to their building since they have 2 TOP empty studios
flip 107.1 to a hurbana with a heavy street presence
then 101.9 goes regional
810 oldies
Then the money will really come in
what do you folks dice/say

If they put oldies on 810 they better fix their processing. Of course Oldies listeners should be prepared to listen to oldies on AM, since thats were the music originally came from.

You are right about a reggaeton format by itself it will not work
But if you grab a little of RadioNow, Hot963 & some 810am you will have a Radio Station
that can go after the africanamerican anglos & hispanic listeners

A one stop radio station that can go after the 13-19 & 23-35 listeners both male & females
If you dont think it would work how come RadioNow has included some reggaeton during their mixes

You could have concerts at the murat the verizon the conseco the music mill the state fair ground

Yep.... Thats a viable format for Central Indiana! It should have a real strong appeal and be an attractive money maker! (NOT!)
