680 WRKO Boston/CFTR Toronto

WRKO in Indiana? Wow, you must have one heck of a setup because I've never heard of it traveling that far west at night. When they go directional, they send so little signal west that they are unlistenable once you get to the Worcester, MA area (within 25 miles of their tx). Not saying I don't believe you, but the farthest west I've ever gotten them at night was Albany, NY. If you confirmed receipt of WRKO at your QTH, it's a heck of an achievement.

From Buffalo Grove, IL (25 mi NNW of Chicago):

610: mix of stations most often WTVN Columbus
620: WTMJ Milwaukee, WI; mixed with WRJZ Knoxville, TN
630: mix of stations

710: WGN splatter with a trace of WOR New York, NY

730: WGN splatter, behind which is a mix of stations

750: WSB Atlanta, GA (rarely RCR Caracas is faint in background)
760: WJR Detroit, MI
770: WABC New York, NY, barely receivable under WBBM's screaming hash
780: WBBM Chicago, IL
790: mainly WBBM hash, which is a more effective signal blocker than anything Stalin could have dreamed up

I need to update my 610 from Buffalo Grove, IL because the last few nights I have had KCSP Kansas City pounding in with a very strong signal and no trace of WTVN. Also 630 and a couple of other minor edits.

My first post to the board and I have enjoyed catching up on the many threads here.

Here are my catches from Midland, Ontario, Canada (100 miles north of Toronto) between 11:25pm (EST) until 2am on January 23-24, 2010.

610: WIP Philadelphia, PA
620: WRJZ Knoxville, TN (5kw)
630: WMAL Washington D.C. , WPRO Providence, RI (could hear both of these easily simulataneously)
640: CFMJ Toronto, ON
650: WSM Nashville, TN
660: WFAN New York (aside from the Toronto locals, strongest signal I heard)
670: WSCR Chicago, IL
680: CFTR Toronto, ON
690: CINF Montreal, QC
700: WLW Cincinnati, OH
710: WOR New York
720: WGN Chicago, IL
730: unknown - solid signal - see below
740: CFZM Toronto, ON
750: WSB Atlanta, GA
760: WJR Detroit, MI
770: WABC New York
780: WBBM Chicago, IL
790: WAEB Allentown, PA (coolest catch in my mind, 1.5kw 5 tower array, me being in the severe null)

Going back the the 730 signal. Solid for the 1 hour plus I monitored playing all 70's 80's pop music, no commercial breaks, only a jingle every 3rd song or so. Some of the songs were French and the very brief jingle could be French. This station was difficult due to 740 Toronto being local to me. I did some research and there is CKAC a 50kw station in Montreal, QC but it is listed as a sports talk station. Perhaps the format just changed???
