620 KHB

W231BM ON 94.1 with 10 watts, In Clairton is now Rebroadcasting 620 WKHB, Their is an Application to move the Transmitter next to Calvary Cemetery and incress power to 84 watts. But I wounder if we in the North Hills Will get it due to WWSW 94.5?. I Would like to see WKHB Simalcast WANB 105.1's Greene County Gold on Sunday Nights. The Greaser is Very Informative. He Knows the music and Talks about it's History.

Frankie Day only can do so many hours even with his great love of "Pittsburgh oldies." Since he buys his time on WKFB, who would fill in the hours he doesn't use?

I'm unfamiliar with Frankie's hours, and if an FM translator would help (re: mornings?).

Bob could sell more time/infomercials/whatever if 770 went 24/7, I presume.

On his show this afternoon Frankie Day claimed that he works 57 hrs. per week on the radio.
Not sure how hold he is, but he's up there. I'm impressed.

If there's an opportunity for him to make more money, he'll take it. I'm sure he wouldn't even pursue this if that wasn't the case. He's done well for himself.

Dave Crawley did a feature on Frankie Day this week on KDKA-TV.

A very nice piece it was, and well-deserved. Frankie always has been the "prime mover" behind the oldies
on 770 KFB. That piece may well increase his ratings.

I wonder how much money he's put into 94.1, including the move into town. If he could repeat that with a translator for 770, and not spend a lot of money...but I also don't know how "full up" he is with potential paid programming clients.

I was driving around last night seeing how much of a signal I could catch on 94.1
Actually quite a bit for a ten watt station way down in Clairton. When they move
in and go to 90 watts I think I will have to invest a preset button in it to enjoy the
music they play after all the quacks are done for the day.

A certain newspaper columnist reports that Bob Stevens is also adding 97.5/currently Monroeville to his collection "very soon" as a translator for WKFB/770, though it'll be located at the AM tower site.

Patrick Cloonan in the McKeesport Daily News says that Bob doesn't know how he'll extend 770's program schedule, and that there are no plans to extend WKVE/103.1's signal to the north.

97.5 is apparently one of EMF/K-Love's area translators right now.

Tuned in 94.1 yesterday and caught a rant about the Illuminati, Skull and Bones, the
Vatican Bank, the Bush family and the "murder" of Pope John Paul I. Thought maybe KHB
was running a Best of Chuck Harder rerun. But turns out it was Dr. Winer's rant!

Guess he goes of on this kind of stuff whenever he's not pitching some outrageously
expensive vegetable paste that is supposed to cure your lumbago?

Satellite oldies would be less profitable than the health talk, and someone would have to go out and sell it, as opposed to people walking in the door with checks.
