790 The Zone - facepalm

I thought Don Imus' comments a few years back were the worst comments ever on radio. Mayhem proved me wrong.

I'm a 790 fan and hope the station survives it, but is it possible that termination - and the ability to take their services elsewhere while 92.9 is looking for shows - was planned by the three of them ahead of time.

There's no way in hell 92.9 even fathoms hiring these dolts after this. Would be a PR disaster.

6 months from now the PR disaster is over. Life is full of second chances and believe it or not we live in a very forgiving society.

6 months from now we're in the middle of football season, probably battling the Saints for the division. Pretty good bet that those fans aren't going to forget and there are a lot of them in Atlanta. I have a really hard time believing someone would hire them.

While not minimizing the comments Imus made, they were a remark, off the cuff, incredibly rude, but not pre-planned. This was a planned skit, which was rude, insensitive and tasteless from start to finish. this is allot different to try to recover from, and doubtful anyone in market or even in region will be putting these fools back on air any time soon if they value their reputations.

CBS 46 made a mistake when they let Mark Harmon and Gil Tyre go,I especially like Tyre when he was on Fox5,he was hilarious.

Quick question here: I've been wanting to check to see what posters are saying in New Orleans, but I can't find a New Orleans board on this site. There's nothing on the Louisiana board about this subject.

What market # is New Orleans? Where are they posting (if any)?

There is not a New Orleans board. The Louisiana folks seem happy posting everything to the Louisiana board. Besides, that board is slower than the Georgia board even with New Orleans included.

I was basically observing the fact that RadioDuscussions didn't have a board for the New Orleans market. When I joined the Radio-Info boards years ago, they didn't have a Detroit board. However, they provided one, and people there started joining and posting (I think because RadioInsight did after they split off - or something like that). The same thing could happen in N.O. if given the chance.
