87.7 vs. 99.1

Seems alternative music gets old faster than classic rock ever did. Advertisers see the trends. So I predict the music will just be absorbed in the remaining "big shots' on the dial. That way stations can still profit by playing the classics with more variety with the new new and the new old stuff. Make sense? Let's see when 2015 gets here.

99.1? I don't hear anything on 99.1 around Cleveland anywhere. I work in Middleburg Hts, but cover a large part of the county for service calls, and live in Lorain. I hear nothing on that frequency at all.

And why would 87.7 go dark in 2015? Nothing is changing that I've heard of. But frankly, I support the method they used to get on the air. There is a distinct need for more stations here, obviously. So at the very least, 87.7 and 87.9 should be added to the band permanently!

That's pretty strange that you don't get it in Middleburg Heights, that's one of the areas where the 99x signal comes in best. It's always crystal clear for me in southern Cuyahoga county and into Cleveland until you get downtown.

The FCC has ordered 87.7 signals everywhere to be off in 2015, I think that's when Channel 6 is required to be converted to digital (I think I have it right).

99.1 should be fairly strong in Middleburg Hts. You can also get them on WMMS HD2. ALL LOW POWER ANALOG TV stations must go dark or convert to digital by September, 2015, so not only channel 6, but channel 35 as well. Even if WLFM channel 6 converted to digital on channel 6, it will not allow the audio to be heard on analog 87.75MHz. I don't believe it would receivable as an FM HD signal either at 87.75 either, as I don't believe that digital TV audio and HD FM radio audio are compatible.

I wonder how 87.7 will do now that Stansbury is on the afternoons. So far, people are still angry over Archie's departure. I get they liked the guy and didn't want to see him gone, but the increase bashing has gone too far and is increasingly annoying.
