Growing up in the 70's in Atlanta, I tuned to 890 am to hear "Music Radio - WLS" out of Chicago every night after sunset. When I was in 5th grade in 1975, I tuned my little transister radio on 890 AM and would hear John Landecker doing the Boogie check. I had a friend over spending the night one time, and we were playing cards listening to the music. He did not know that I had set the radio to that frequency. They predicted snow for the next morning. My friend got real excited thinking that we were going to get snow in Atlanta. I laughed, and I finally had to tell him that we were listening to Chicago. He was real mad at me. Anyway, those were great memories.
