I would be surprised if either the second or third subchannel wasn't all-jazz. It'd be a perfect addition to Ideastream's format suite of all-spoken word, classical and folk music (Folk Alley, despite being totally independent of WKSU, is a link to their folk heritage).I just noticed 90.3 has fired up HD3. Currently, it is airing the same programming as HD2, which is a simulcast of WKSU. I assume it will eventually be something else, most likely jazz. I wonder if that means WCLV will drop the overnight jazz programming?
There might be contractual commitments to keep Folk Alley on the WKSU stations (the station spun off FA and donated it to a nonprofit in early 2019).I wonder if 90.3 still needs to air WKSU on HD2? WKSU with its power boost and its network of repeaters/translators should be covering NE Ohio pretty well. Perhaps they could put Folk Alley there.
WKSU-HD3 is basically that, simulcasting WCLV but running Classical 24 in the overnight. So making it one and the same makes perfect sense. My bet is on all-jazz. It would make sense to make WCLV 90.3 ALL classical.
WKSU signal along the east shoreline (Euclid, etc) still pretty choppy. Hopefully, the Warrensville booster will help that area. There might be contractual commitments to keep Folk Alley on the WKSU stations (the station spun off FA and donated it to a nonprofit in early 2019).
From my understanding, the second on-channel booster in Warrensville Heights still needs to be built. The first one has indeed fixed the weak spots in Cleveland's west side and downtown.

The Ideasteam program guide for this month confirms it will be 90.3 HD2, along with a logo for "jazzNEO".A reliable source has informed me that 90.3 HD3 will be all-jazz.
So they are dropping the WKSU simulcast? And what's going on HD3?The Ideasteam program guide for this month confirms it will be 90.3 HD2, along with a logo for "jazzNEO".
Deductive reasoning would suggest that the WKSU simulcast moves to 90.3 HD3?So they are dropping the WKSU simulcast? And what's going on HD3?
The WKSU simulcast has been on HD3.Deductive reasoning would suggest that the WKSU simulcast moves to 90.3 HD3?
It's been on HD2 and now it's also on HD3.The WKSU simulcast has been on HD3.
We already knew that! It's been on HD2 and now it's also on HD3.
They haven't promoted the third subchannel just yet, so while we already can tell it's been "moved" there, it kinda "hasn't"? Nevermind that there's no real good resource to track HD Radio subchannels since HDRadio.com made it difficult to navigate. We already knew that!
When I said "We" in the previous post, I was really referring to those individuals who actually have an HD radio/tuner as it is obvious from some posts here that many do not. If you have to go to a web site, Facebook etc., then you really don't know if it's accurate or not compared to actually owning/using HD radios as I have for many years. They haven't promoted the third subchannel just yet, so while we already can tell it's been "moved" there, it kinda "hasn't"? So when is this going to start? It seems dumb to keep repeating the WKSU channel.A reliable source has informed me that 90.3 HD3 will be all-jazz.
That would make sense. All jazz listeners are not insomniacs.Does this mean that 90.3 FM will now go full time classical music overnights?
