92.1 - New Owner, Same Format...Same Results?

About the Zone in the late 90's... what Mod AC didn't do well in that time? Just like in sports you have to look at a team with a good record and ask "who did they play?" You also have to question if a station is just riding a wave of something that is trendy.
 
Have to agree with HP...

The music for the format in the late 90's wa superior than what is being turned out now.

The format was fresh and new...

I don't know Shakes, but like the President, Consultants/PD's often get more credit and blame then they deserve, when the reality is that much of the environment around them and other issues were/are out of their control.

I disagree, what about stations that have poor ratings and little community recognition, who want to turn things around? Are you saying that they have to flip formats to find success, that the help of a talented PD couldn't help turn things around?
 
I wonder if K-Hits will stick to this format? I heard Ringo Starr the other day. What sort of format is that? I guess they're calling it oldies. It's good to hear Old School Sacramento deejays on the air, though.
