92.1 Stunting Now

This past Saturday morning they were running brokered longform programming for some 'miracle pill'. First time I heard it, although I really hadn't listened to them at 6am on Saturdays in the past. Is this something they've done all along ... or does this foretell things to come??

This is something I've heard in the past, typically early Sunday morning. They probably had a commitment to fill although I can't imagine anyone was listening aside from some wildlife.

For as long as I can remember, K-Hits has ran the vitamin/supplement infomercials early morning on weekends. I would agree they are just "paying the bills", and is completely independent of the pending format change. I imagine those infomercials bring in good $$, it's just a matter of limiting the spots so you don't lose/confuse your P1's too much.

Actually, all brokered programming would probably be more lucrative than any music format they might put on!

How much would a signal like that get for 30-60 minutes of brokered programming? I've always been curious what that rate card looks like.

Did anyone else think today would be the day? Is this the fourth week of the loop or the fifth?

They started on July 1st; its been 3 full weeks of stunting. Perhaps next Monday to make it a full 4-week run.

Just leave $100 on the nightstand when you're done.

At this point they could play polkas for all I care. The curiosity factor has long come and gone. 4-weeks stunting with the same tired liners cycling is evidence this group owner wasn't prepared and dropped the ball. They call it "Results"? Good grief! If they were trying to shake off whatever last number of listeners they had to 92.1; a just as effective and cheap option would have been to shut off the transmitter and save on the light bill. Other than a few geeks here and an engineer, no one would notice or care for that matter. How long was it until 101.5 was finally up and running? "nuff said!

At this point they do seem unprepared.

Is there a technical reason they can't launch?

They'd have been better off running KHITS a few extra weeks and just ran liners in between songs that they've moved to 101.5.

Either shut off the transmitter, or play Kenny G continuously. "Your sleep station, 92.1 KZZZ..."

For the labor day launch 15000 loops in a row of a we're moving into 92.1. Promo.

Got to check out the new 101.5 site and tower yesterday. Pretty nice facility!

I was there working on another rack on the same tower.

I was hoping to bump into the engineer so I could ask about 92.1, no dice. :(

Perhaps they will go all Christmas tomorrow. BTW would that other rack be the KDVS upgrade? Nice rack!

Why yes, yes it is. :)

When will KDVS start broadcasting from the new site??

Everything is installed and ready to go. The antenna proof will be done Monday.

I suspect it could be on the air as early as Monday/Tuesday of next week. It looks to be a great upgrade for the station. The audio processing will be upgraded from a 2 band Otimod 8100 to a 5 band Optimod 5500 so it should sound better too. :)
