92.1 Stunting Now

I think they're waiting to spin it another broadcaster. That's what I'm beginning to think. Who keeps a station in pure limbo for that long. Otherwise, it's generating no revenue but costing money to operate with nothing on it. It reminds me of that station in Manteca, KSJQ running for two years from 1985-1987 with NO commercials when Commonwealth bought it from the Jonssons along with KSAC.

Right now the owners of 92.1 are BADLY losing money with this stunting. Put something on there - I don't care if it's Nash, Smooth Jazz or Polka, just get the looped audio done and over it!

Reminds me of 92.7 in San Francisco. Although I don't think that was the intention (no commercials) when they became "revolution".

They should sign it off and save money at this point.

Not sure I agree about them spinning it off to another broadcaster.

It really does seem strange at this point. 5 weeks of "stunting" is very odd.

Results Radio can't be that dumb. They own multiple stations in several small markets and have been in the business for some time. They have to have a plan for this, and thowing away $$ on

Not saying unloading 92.1 isn't entirely impossible...just don't think its likely. My impression from the 101.5 move-in was to build their Sacramento properties, not just swap frequencies closer to the populated areas. Again, a very strange scenario. ???

There's no explaining stupid!!!

I can't imagine there are any engineering challenges. I don't know what remains of the 103.9 studios on Commerace Circle, perhaps they're working on a new studio. Regardless, they could still come on the air with automation.

They run a decent cluster of stations in Chico. I worked up there for many years and I would've never expected something like this in that market let alone Sacramento.

Sacramento doesn't need anymore country radio stations. AAA all the way.

We couldn't agree more. There's no room for another Country station in this market.

Cash Crunch/Overextension????
Lotus looking? Or are they just trying to LMA daytime the Olivehurst AM?

Results has their signal in sac at 101.5 to hopefully pull in more ratings and $ with the better signal compared to the 92.1 rimshot?? Whatever goes on 92.1 is limited as K-hits was signal wise and results moved other station in as two station revenues are better than one. K-hits is where they've put their money/fight. 92.1 will be a Low cost format or maybe they "rent" 92.1 to another cluster for AM format on FM???

If spun off who would buy just the 92.1. I don't think any clusters are looking to buy; some would like to sell. I think if sold it would be as a combo package deal. Take the money, run, and happily continue small market radio. Unless some rich person or church wants to play radio in El Dorado County!

There's no one wanting to buy 92.1 in fact I expect we'll see 93.1 (not a typo) go up for sale before 92.1. The advantage CC has to keeping 93.1 is very low overhead to operate. It's literally just a PC running a schedule.

KROI already in Houston, KIFR.

I don't care if it's Z-Rock, Nash, Smooth KSSJ 92.1, Polka 92.1, Comedy 92.1, or even Ragtime Music from the 1910s and 1920s, just get that loop DONE AND OVER WITH!

Loop still playing this Monday morning! Just what are these so called radio nuts trying to prove anyway? Turn the silly thing off and save some money! Or grow some and put a real radio station on the air! Shut it off already!

"Grow Some" ROFLMAO! :)

By now I don't care if they play Christmas music for all I care, or allow a staticky KOND and/or KKDV into Sacramento - shut the darn thing off!

Or, contact the station online or via their office phone. It's 916-576-7333. Tell them to do something about this 92.1 situation!

Both of those stations are probably worth more than you think. They certainly are worth less then they were before the financial crisis. I don't see Clear Channel dumping an FM, but I am surprised that the destroyed their youngest skewing FM for a simulcast.
