92.1 Stunting Now

Michael Rivers Kramer said:
Both of those stations are probably worth more than you think. They certainly are worth less then they were before the financial crisis. I don't see Clear Channel dumping an FM, but I am surprised that the destroyed their youngest skewing FM for a simulcast.
Agree. Relatively weak signal for 92.1 but good for in-car listening, probably a larger overall coverage area (with a good car radio) than most other local FMs.

I would have thought, if anything, Results would eventually like to pick up 93.1 since they own the tower.

I don't care if it's Z-Rock, Nash, Smooth KSSJ 92.1, Polka 92.1, Comedy 92.1, or even Ragtime Music from the 1910s and 1920s, just get that loop DONE AND OVER WITH!

At this point, how about 92.1 KWTF :D

Already a KWTF-FM, on 88.1 in Bodega Bay (a nice stop on the Northern CA coast from what I've heard...)
http://kwtf.net/

There's a KZZZ on AM in AZ on 1490, but not on FM. The next callsign for 92.1? Play all of Kenny G's greatest hits!

I'm interested in CA radio, and I run a radio industry news podcast. I'm wondering if 92.1 there is still running the loop as of now? Also, is audio of this loop available anywhere? Thanks.

Monday August 12, 2013 and the loop is still running! It's time to put up or shut up! Are the folks at 91.9 looking to buy out Results at 92.1 in order to fully power up their station in Colfax? Well? 106.9_KIFR Put up or....you get the idea! Is the ink dry on the deal?

Just keep calling 916-576-7333 (the office phone for K-Hits) and let them know what you think about this waste of signal. I'm not sure what the number is for the chief engineer for 92.1, but I wonder if someone is DEFINITELY asleep at the wheel at this time.

You've still not answered the question re: 91.9.

Remember - 91.9 is in the non-comm band and 92.1 is in the commercial band. This is just speculation, of course, but I would be very surprised if Immaculate Heart Radio is willing to spend the $$ to purchase that facility - even if Results wants to sell it - only to operate it as a non-commercial entity.

Results Radio / 92.1 Status

Riddle me this: IF Results was going to unload 92.1, wouldn't there be something advertising its sale by now? Wouldn't they want to find a buyer asap to help offset all the revenue they are losing on this stupid loop? I just can't understand why any owner/GM would run a loop this long on a station that never had any significant ratings in the first place. I mean, its not like KROQ moved frequencies here... ???

Radio Insight is reporting that 93.1 might flip to country?????? http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/84582/more-country-less-classics-in-sacramento/

I know 93.1 isn't 92.1 but do you think it has anything to do with 92.1 moving to 101.5? Seems like a very weird move if its real.

Clear Channel is crazy. Why would you put a 3rd country station on the air? KNTY already covers the foothills well. And KNCI is the heritage station in town. What a bunch of idiots.

Unless Entravision is about to change KNTY.

Re: Results Radio / 92.1 Status

Its not like one posts a for sale sign...you talk with brokers who taljk with eligible partners.. Stealth till the all staff meeting is called.

Now 93.1's situation would probably be 99% voice-tracked! Cheap Channel at it's finest....

Its not about need or about potential ratings... Its about more potential revenue with format, the lifestyle buys, and making the cluster a better buy across the board .

How many country stations does cc.own...want to buy airtime on format across the nation reaching millions in one fell swoop. Cc is shifting more and more national even with advertising buys. Its trying tp actually leverage its economy of scale.

Always remember that stations flip for revenue not for ratings. Ratings just supposedly bring $. But, could itbe more profitable with lower costs and with a format that yields better return that doednt have high ratings... Mediocre can work and be profitable.
