Because of the ratings and because Dan Bennett is so stubborn. They need to put Cindy & Robert back on The Eagle, now since The Eagle is back on the air.

What ratings?

I believe they were tied with Lex & Terry for 24th persons 25-54 in the last trend. Gene & Julie were tied with jockless JACK. That must feel real good. LOL!

Last trend.... men 18+

Bone 3.1
Lex & Terry 2.1
bo & Jim 1.8
Jack 1.5 ?

Maybe that's why Dan Bennett is so stubborn? That's a big improvement over Walton & Johnson.

I don't remember exactly when Skull and Miguel started, but look at those numbers this way.

In the space of a couple months, the Bone has opened up a lead of 1.0 (or more) on
A. The (realtively) long term morning show of the station that appeals directly to men 18-34 ( the Edge)
B. The EXTREMELY long term (for this market) morning show-(that is on the closest thing they have to a direct competitor) (KZPS)-that appeals to men 35-54.
and
C. the jockless morning show of a station that appeals to 25-54's and, IIRC, skews heavily female (Jack)...

And they've done all that with no marekting (or at least none that I've seen)...

How does that happen on a station that was dead in the water until September with a signal that is 1/2 the power of edge, jack, and zps?

If Cume-less is smart, they would put some marketing behind Bone mornings and run with it. Or better yet, CC should get them over to the Eagle where they belong.

As someone stated earlier, Eagle was flipped in 2004 because the numbers were in the toilet and they could not sell it. One would think CC would rethink making the same mistake.

As far as the Bone's numbers in the morning...could it possibly be because they are playing rock music when the other guys are not? I would be interested to see the Bone's numbers if it were all talk in the morning. Comparing Bone Mornings to a station that plays Texas Country/Southern Rock and another station that is all talk in the morning is comparing apples to oranges.

I have to believe that anyone's numbers "post" Walton and Johnson would improve. ;D

But comparing the Bone to KZPS and the Edge is at least comparing fruit to fruit. They are all 'rock' stations that appeal mainly to men.

Now start comparing the bone to KVIL or KLTY or KISS or WBAP, and you're not comparing fruit to fruit, you're comparing apples and Orangutans, apples and Orchids, apples and Oscar the Grouch, etc...

LOLOLOL!!!!! Now you got me anxious to head over to Sesame Street. Can someone tell me how to get there? ;D

So you believe Eagle went off in 04 from bad ratings and no revenue because it was posted on this board? Lets take a look......

Check the numbers, Eagle was somewhere around a 2.7 when they went off 2004, better than SUNNY, LONESTAR or much of thethe CC repertoire now.

Eagle's demise in 2004 was because of HORRIFIC PROGRAMMING that narrowed their appeal to an over repetitious short list of unfamiliar metal tunes mixed with too much raunch promotion for the average listener tolerate.

Bad programming kills formats. Most air talent becomes victims of poor management. EVERYONE on this board has seen jocks get blown out as the scape goats of programming management's poor judgement and bad directional decisions.

I have not seen one TV ad or billboard for the "new" Eagle. Just a "non-CC like" website. Could this all be part of an elaborate stunt? Maybe the guy from Houston is actually coming up to program ZPS and the Edge? Go to yes.com and check out what has played on KEGL and KDGE... A LOT of overlapping songs. Just my 2 cents.

PS - Why don't PC keyboards have the "Cent" symbol like typewriters??? ???

Probably because there's no "cents" in using it? ;D But you can get it with a little HTML code: ¢

If you're using a PC and Windoze you can also hold down the Alt key and type 155 (on your number pad).

Clear Channel does not seem like the kind of company to pull a stunt like that. I think they are just getting warmed up and will take care of everything after Christmas and New Years. All this marketing usually doesn't happen overnight, especially during the holidays.

Well Said.... The Truth is sticky, except for some PD's, that are quite slimey, and hence, the Truth never quite gets to them . . .
