92.5 THE BOX flipping formats???

The change has happened. Kickin' Country is simulcasting on 92.5 and 95.9 with about a :10 delay between 92.5 and 95.9 (95.9 behind). First song, "Kick a Little" by Little Texas.

Are they only saying Kickin' 95.9 as only their stream works while the old 92.5 The Box stream isn't. I had on 92.5 and at top hour after the flip they had both IDs for 95.9 WIOP and 92.5 WIHB.

Also since Kickin' signed onto 95.9 have they hired any DJs?

No DJs on 95.9. They hired a PD, Brian Driver, but they are trying to start a morning show. They said 92.5 at the beginning and have said it several times. The jingles still say 95.9 though.

Just seen a commerical on Live 5 for Kickin' 95.9 and commerical for sister station 101.7 Chuck FM. Also it seems they are taking a good long while to get DJs for Kickin'. Didn't take them long to get DJs for The Box. Wonder if Sean Mack will be wearing a cowboy hat.

I was told today the THE BOX was flipped because the people running things had no clue about the Urban format. Im glad that Tangie and Divine Martino has great gigs here in Georgia. LUV aka Flu Season and DJ G-Money are 2 great jocks left in the cold again on the radio side due to format flips(HOT 98.9, now92.5) . I think Gentle George still voicetracks Flu and uses DJ G-Money mixes here in Georgia at BLAZIN 92.3 in Macon, a Cumulus station.

The interesting part still hasn't happened yet - what happens at 95.9. I still think the better stunt would've been to have teased it last week, flipped Friday simulcasted until today, and launched the new 95.9.

Re: 99.3....I noticed the post about it earlier - the only thing it can be used for is to translate an AM, or HD-2 channel (which, in that case, would require change in FCC paperwork, probably).

I did hear, shortly after 7PM ET, a liner (paraphrased) "your new home for country - 92.5".

Ironic that, shortly after the flip, it was tough to listen to the station because of E-skip conditions bringing HITZ 92 FM from Jamaica flanking 92.5 at BOTH 92.3 and 92.7.

I read several comments on Kickin's facebook page that the audio is much better on 95.9 than 92.5.

They may have not changed the audio yet when they flipped from hip hop to country.

Also over on the Facebook page of 92.5 The Box (which is still up), people are wondering what happened and where The Box went. Could say that The Box got boxed up and shipped out.

Just to add, 96.9 The Wolf's Facebook page has the most fans more then if you combine Kickin' and WEZL's fans. Thought that would be interesting to point out.

Hell, Eagle 92.9 in small market Florence has more fans on FB than Wolf does - not sure that necessarily says anything but how the stations are using FB (or not).

Not by to much. Also Eagle 92.9's signal covers a huge area. From Dillion to Myrtle Beach to parts south and parts north.

Eagle has a huge signal. Not just SC, but all the way to Fayetteville, NC, and it comes in frequently in Charleston. That's why it has so many fans.

A RIP 92.5 the Box group has already been started, and it has close to 800 members.

Wonder how they got so many members so fast. And a bunch of people on that page saying they won't listen to z93 Jamz. But the ratings don't show that.
