93.1 in Columbia

You are right. Not only are they afterthoughts, but I doubt their towers would pass an FCC inspection. Limping to the finish line.

Whenever 93.1 goes to WLXM, 1400 could become ESPN Radio. They could just clear the national shows and have some added play-by-play. I haven't heard of anyone listening to that gospel format.

Gospel already has 98.3, 95.3 and 620, three viable stations in the format.

Alex is using 620 for mostly talk aimed at the black community. Something that actually may be viable on FM in this market. Cincy's The Buzz does decent. In fact, they had quite a few very compelling shows. In particular, their afternoon host was very entertaining.

That actually is a decent idea. I think I read somewhere that Columbia was one of the top 8 markets in the country for African-Americans. 620 has almost always been religious, even when Andy Thomas was on the station, but just segued over to talk a couple years ago.

That would suck. I enjoy ESPN radio here in Batesburg, if they move it to 1400, it ensures I can't listen to it with any quality. Still though, with local ownership of 93.1 broadcasting next to Flight Deck in Lexington, that's a good thing. I wish they would move ESPN radio to 1170 instead of "the Deck", which seems to be lacking advertisers.

Well, Inner City just may move ESPN to another position maybe? Perhaps 93.5? I really doubt it considering the sports overkill in this market already (560, 107.5 which are 2 superb signals)

I think everyone had some blips or bumps because of the storms yesterday. Some of our equipment atop Barringer did not come back off UPS when AC was restored.
