I was wondering if anyone else caught that. Well, Florentino used to work with Saga who is FULL of consultants who took away Oldies and threw Mix on when it got dumped on 971. Saga did the right thing there, the format is DEAD. I don't see why stations still flip to it when just a year or two ago, they were flipping away from it. Mix isn't doing great, but it's doing much better than the old B1079, plus they never really advertised Mix. I didn't see any billboards.
xmusicmatt said:Gotta give them credit for trying a format that everyone else says is 'dead' ... I kinda figured they would go with an oldies format (in leu of classic hits) the mix on the top 500 songs seemed to have a more oldies feel to it than a typical classic hits station such as 103.5/104.3/103.9.

Adult hits seems to be doing good in the ppm world in Detroit, Pittsburgh and Cleveland so Ted might have a better chance this time around. It's sad that we are consitently growing while cities losing people still has better formatted radio stations.
