My Source inside sales at Cumulus Dallas says they're making the Walton & Johson switch either this afternoon or later this week, but it'll be done by Friday. Cindy Skull & Robert Migeul on 93.3 The Bone!! Don't know how long they'll stunt before they start. That Fish character better watch his butt, he'll be next if he keeps pulling those lowsy ratings!

This is how rumors get started, I got an e-mail from Cindy last week and she told me that no one at the Bone has contacted her about a morning show.
 
Greetings from 93.3 the Bone! Dallas Fort Worth’s only “Exclusive” Classic Rock Station!

As you probably know, with the recent format changes in the DFW. 92.5 KZPS is no longer on the air as a classic rock station. This leaves 93.3 the Bone as the “Exclusive” 100% Classic Rock Station in Dallas/Ft. Worth.

As of 3:05 today 93.3 The Bone has made a change that will help us super serve our already growing base of listeners. With the changes at KZPS we have been inundated with new listeners and their feedback about the music we play here at 93.3 The Bone and we listened. Our audience wanted more of their favorite Music in the morning and starting Thursday morning our listeners will get a heavy dose of CLASSIC ROCK ON 93.3 THE BONE.

93.3 The Bone plays 100% pure Classic Rock with No Country.
 
[b]Oh Boy. shameless plug . Sorry its going to take a lot more than play the same old shortened playlist of 300 songs The Bone has been playing plus a better stereo processor. BTW Cream have recorded other hits besides "White Room" ,Jimi Hendrix had other hits besides "Purple Haze" and "All Along the Watch Tower". In addition 'The Doors have done more than "Light my Fire" and "La Woman",and Steve Miller had more hits as well, Not just "Jet Airliner" . So if you really want to play the best Classic Rock, extend your playlist, look at the Billboard charts of years past, and finally dump your narrow focused, sandwich engulfed, and drunk with cola research groups[/b].
 
For what it's worth ($0.02), much of the Bone's website is currently under construction. Yawn.

I would love to hear Riders in the storm and People are strange. So many great Doors songs. If you want to hear Light my fire go to kluv.

The Bone can only improve with those vain fossils gone from mornings.

Can anyone confirm that w&j have been fired from the Bone and replaced with either music or another show?

If true, Cumulus should pull them from KIOL Houston immediately. Walton and johnson are notorious, even famous for bashing stations and parent companies they work for on the air. They'll be so cranky for being pulled from their Dallas affiliate that they'll unload on Cumulus on the air. :mad:

So much for the rumor that w&j would be on in Austin, Shreveport, and Memphis by March 07! :D

Remember the quote Fant told the trades,"the walton and johnson show will be so hot in 07, listeners will need asbestos lined headphones"? :D

Looks like the heat will be on Fant to justify his decisions. :eek:

They are not on the air this morning, my feeling that the Bone has pulled the plug on W&J.
 
Cindy and Robert have both visited the station in the last week, hopefully they won't talk for 15 minutes everytime they open the mic like in the afternoons on Bone. If I wanted a talk show, I'd watch Oprah. By the way, do they pay Barb to co-host the afternoon show?
 
This is my first posting here, I have to tell you at times I find this board very humorous and at the same time very sad...for those of you that espouse your views and hide behind veils (zpsfan). It reminds me of the cowardice projected by Islamic fascists, so quick to scream their beliefs and at the same time can't man up enough to show themselves...which brings me back to the "sad" part.

Those of you that do not hide behind an alias, I commend you for what it's worth...and you also seem to be very level headed in your thinking. We can always agree to disagree...but to hide while doing it...pathetic!

Thanks for the no country guarantee. I do listen more, and 92.5 is off my presets. Their commercials show someone shooting their radio. THAT is exactly how I feel about their new format!

Be honest, though - you are not the ONLY classic rock station. KMAD 102.5 is a rim shot classic rocker, and they DO play "Riders On the Storm" and other Doors songs ---
 
First off How do we know you're "Jerome"? How can you prove it? Second who really cares if you are Jerome ,Bill,Ted. Doofus ,etc? WE already spelled out the reasons why "Nics" are generally used. Its not cowardice in the least. Only those in a management position or some true secured financial position would say something like that. Sort of like a school yard bully type,who would rather blackball somebody for expressing an opposite point of view. Its an even playing field here,( unlike a typical talk show) and you don't like it,darn.
 
For once, Bruce and I agree. KZPS is of no interest to me whatsoever anymore. Wish I had the clearance to build a 200' tower at the house, aimed towards Whitesboro so I could pull in KMAD. I find myself programming several rimshots on my car stereo presets these days.

What a luxury when I worked for ABC Radio and got all their formats through a closed-circuit radio at my desk (including KMAD's "Classic Rock Experience," which, as I've mentioned before here, is programmed by mostly former Q-102 folks and has much more depth than we normally get on classic rock stations in DFW.)

Speaking of rimshots, let's just hope that Citadel will make a positive change at 96.7 right off the bat. That's ripe for a return to Memories or some type of light rock or smooth jazz.

FYI...since we do this about once a year...here are my presets:

AM-770, 820, 1080, 1190 (too lazy to change since "Mighty" signed off), 1310, 1360.

FM1-88.5, 88.9 (KETR,) 93.3, 94.5, 97.5 (KLAK,) 98.7

FM2-100.3, 102.1, 102.9, 103.7, 105.7, and a dummy station to pipe in XM from the FM modulator

And honestly, there's not one in the group that fits me perfectly, or even close. It's a constant battle of station surfing. If I had to pick one fave, it'd be KEOM...the formatics are nicely predictable, and I'll hear a decent song (sure, albeit overplayed) about 75% of the time.
 
It has become a very sad market. I no longer need my FM2... Heck I barely need FM1... My presets have dwindled to:

I like the new Bone. The music rocks and the on air folks sound like they have energy and a pulse unlike most other stations
