93.9 Sellersburg-Louisville

So he went from syndicated twice to on locally in a market that isn't even Top 50.

Sounds like a career headed in the right direction. Perhaps there's a reason people stopped listening to him.
 
LOL this is getting funny. I have to agree with radioville on John The Freak Renshaw. He is brilliant when it comes to sports knowledge. Plus his rhymes crack me up.
 
Did anyone else notice that they are IDing as WQKC FM Sellersburg/Louisville? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't adding anything except the frequency between the call sign & city of license is a no-no? Per the FCC website, their call sign is WQKC, not WQKC FM.

There are some stations that have -FM or -TV as part of their call signs when there are co-owned stations sharing. For example just WSB is 750 AM. WSB-FM is the legal call sign of 98.5 FM and WSB-TV is the legal call sign of channel 2. WHAS-TV is the legal call sign of channel 11 since there is a WHAS AM. Note, -AM is not a legal call sign. Standard broadcast stations are not required to tag the call sign since it's understood that it's an AM station.

That being said, I don't think the FCC will say much if they insert "FM" between the call sign and city of license just so long as they are together.

Agreed...nothing will ever be said about it in real life, but it's interesting to note the discrepancy. I've heard various miscues in ID protocol over the decades, but have never seen any enforcement action result from it.

Interference problems with our FM signal
Many have called regarding the recent, abrupt change in reception of our 93.9 FM signal. Wow, I thought the FCC would make them go off the air. I can't believe they allow both to remain on the air simultaneously. So WFBR get HAMMERED by WQKC, and WKKC has a nasty interference problem down south.

Don't ya just love the FCC?
 
The really strange part is that WQKC nearly took out Air1's translator in Middletown as well-the two towers are spaced not much more than the minimum for IF clearance (93.9 + 10.8 = 104.7). So far 104.7 seems none the worse for wear, although I haven't been downtown since WQKC moved.

WFBR's core format, Christian CHR, should be signing on at 104.3 any day now.

I haven't heard anything about WJIE's translator, which I presume was laid to rest quietly.

I will be heading south tomorrow morning for the holidays, so I'll file a report when I get to the 205.
 
WQKC and WFBR start clashing between Taylorsville and Billtown on Gene Snyder. It gets better around Preston Highway, but gets really bad in Shepherdsville to the point where both are unlistenable. WFBR really doesn't shake off WQKC until just north of Elizabethtown.
