94-1 KTFM leaning Rhythmic Top 40?

WillTX said:
KTFM needs to go back to it's Jammin 94.1 format, and only play the 70s, 80s, and the 90s. They did good when they first started in 2005 on 94.1 but their playlist was small. I am talking about all the CHR they played during those 3 decades.

Face it KONO was once a CHR station way back then.

Leave the 60s and early to mid 70s music to KONO and the rest to KTFM.

On another note in the 70s, and 80s KITY 92.9 was CHR/Top 40, and now they are in Austin on 102.7 and 102.9 in Burnet as an Oldies format. Old call letters should match their format. My 2 cents.

On another note, KISS now has a rival, again 97.7 rock. I am hoping Univision or whoever now owns KLTO decides to hire the 96 rock and former k-rock jocks and rename the station from KLTO to KSAQ and bring some nostalgia back to SA Town.

Flip 102.7 Jack-Fm to KSJL 102.7 Hits and Oldies.

A perfect format
KTFM 94.1 70s, 80s, and 90s music everything that was played then rap, rock, alternative, freestyle, r&b, dance (make it the oldies for the Generation Xers)
KSAQ 97.7 Rock (keep it active rock) play a lot of today's rock no more early 90s stuff like red hot chili peppers under the bridge, REM, other stuff kiss plays too damn much)
KSJL 102.7 same stuff that was on 96.1 in the 90s without the mix show) <--- BMP here is an oppurtunity to revive a station.

Dude what are you smoking I want some! ;D

Man...where were all you guys when I needed help in the string about Magic next to this one?
I believe Magic or KQ should hit hard with 90's R&B and an HOT AC mix. I got slapped around pretty good for that idea. What do you guys think? Check out my string about that...OUCH.

KTFM is rebuilding, targeting the next generation but holding on to it's past. This is what they should have done when the Beat came on strong. Just add in the music the youth today wants and hold on to some of the best stuff that made it win. They are not watered down, they are not confused, the playlist is bangin'!

I am not hearing Donna Summer on there...Listen again. They are playing the remixes of the mainstream songs that
sound so good compared to the original cuts...They are on top of the dance, r&b stuff that mix stays away from.
The tempo is slammin', no draggy periods, and I hear they are barely getting started.

Mix and the Beat better shore up-because with Mando pickin' the music this time it's FOR REAL.

The beat is getting old...sorry. Trapped between being hard core, and r&bish. 106.7 is far more urban and street.
The beat is hispanic hip hop with r&b mixed in, 106.7 is more like LA hip hop with some mainstream flava mixed in.

KTFM has the advantage of playing anything that is a hit by being a churban. The beat can not play some stuff and the softer they go, the more advantage they give to Power. They are somewhat pinned down.

La Calle was doing some damage to the Beat...nothin but props to ROMEO!

I think some of the Magic is back and if they add the right personalites, or image what they have the right way they are dangerous...

This town needs a radio enema...roll that up in your research and smoke it.

GO KTFM GO

Man you said it. I think KTFM has a huge advantage here. You don't hear them pinning themselves down to one particular format such as The Beat and Power. They now have the commercials rolling in high gear. All they need is a good airstaff and some billboards. ;D

LaKalle started picking up steam with just word of mouth. As soon as they started taking listeners from The Beat. Univison moved La Kalle to HD-2. Oh well, Digital 104.1 has added more Reaggeton.
