94.1 Makes Huge Boo-Boo!

Bob's new sidekick will be be Wendy Gatlin, formerly with WKRR & WKZL, and other stations in our area. She's a veteran, so I doubt she'll be there long. Depends on her tolerance level.
 
If that is true, I hope it works out. Wendy is a great talent. Not sure if there is any truth to your post Maskman, but it would be nice to have someone professional in there. I guess they weren't hiring off the street.
 
OK...so Wendy is on the way in...but what happens with the 10-3 shift? Will Finnegan stay there or is it just a temporary fix? He's been around a while and seems to be a quality guy...but will they let him take that shift and make it his or will they just use him as a band-aide? If he stays there...do they bring in a new news person?
 
;D Wendy's just there until Hillary loses out in the primary and then she's on board with consultant Bill!
 
I hope they keep Finnegan and let him do Midday (if that's what he wants). If he's not a full-time employee, maybe he will have a chance to be one. He's a good guy, loyal, and talented on the air. Uh-oh! That's usually the kiss of death at 94.1. He'll probably get fired! ;D
 
Whooa there VtDude. Bash on TC, BC and the management at 94.1 all you want. But don't paint everyone at 94.1 with the same brush. Despite the crappy pay and hostile working conditions 94.1 does have some talented people working in that building, both on air and off air. Majic 94.1 suffers from, as MaskMan put it, "a paranoid, megalomaniac who wants to control everything", not from a lack of capable employees.
 
::) One thing about it..It's been there since the late 40's..Never been sold and always made money and a living for those involved! And I agree with the last post..For one, they have 2 of the most knowledgeable engineers I have ever known and I've been around as ya know!
 
Hey, remember Wendy Gatlin did news at WHSL Whistle 100 with the Mason-Dixon Big Show.
That would have been 1995-ish. Last live local morning show on the frequency.
 
Don't really know much about Wendy, but wait till she gets a load of TC!

Must not be much or she wouldn't still be in GSO/Ral Market.. I'll have to say I said I wouldn't say anything bad about my Cuz..But I listened to Finnegan this afternoon and he STINKS!>> TC Change the Clock, Or I'm coming back out to make money and run you all off.... That's the word from the Boss..MCH
 
You can wait until Wednesday if you need a couple days to get acclimated to the environment and the drive there or whatever you need man, just make it count, man.

Make it good, too, so we can all talk about that, instead of just talking about 'what could've been' and 'what was in the 60s' and 'how great other people got it' and 'how much better BIG APE could do it' that we're all hearing about now and for a while....

Just make us proud to say 'we know that guy' cause that's all we want to be able to say....

Finnegan stinks??? I've listened to him off and on for the past week and thought he sounded pretty good. Sounds to me like you would be hard pressed to say anything good at all about 94.1...with the possible exception of your cuz. So will your cuz bring you in to save the day??? Sounds to me like you just need a job and maybe your cuz is your only chance to land one.

Heard Wendy on the air Sunday afternoon. Just a couple of breaks. Sounded a little uneasy.
 
Well, if they were ever going to move to Charlotte, they might as well forget it.

Mix 106 has quit teasing us and finally made the switch to oldies.
 
106.1 in Charlotte is the reason oldies formats went south in the first place. It's the same old fried songs that people are sick of. It doesn't work anymore. I'm betting that they won't see much, if any, increase in their numbers from their previous attempt. It's just plain sad that a big organization like Jones can't deliver a better product than that of what's on 106.1.
