94.3 WWNQ Stunting

I just wonder if this is not the format they intend on running for this very purpose and maybe it will sell.

There is no way this is the new format. By the way, has anyone heard any non-radio people street buzz about this at all? All I have heard is people ticked off that Country Legends went away.

Question, In todays world of computers and automation how long would it take for a station to put together the new libary for a new formatt?
That's what I don't get. They've had since the end of November? to do this...I can see it going on for a couple of days, but now it's looking like this is going to be carried on in to the new year. ???

94 is now Flashback 94.3....Classic Hits. In the preview mode as of now.

If this is infact the direction they are going, I see it wasting time and money only because you already have Fox, Magic, and Steve playing about the same thing. Now it just becomes an over saturation of the same format. the Radio Disney or going head to head with what is left of NOK to me seems to have been a easier direction to go. Time will tell.

This could also cause Fox to knock the dust off the laurels and get a little more competitive. Perhaps this is what is needed for some healty competition.Wake up Dave!

It could give Fox the competition that they need and anyone that thinks that Fox, Magic and Steve are all playing the same things are badly mistaken. I listen to these stations and at times you may hear some similar songs, they are in no way shape or form the same formats.

It sound like it should be called "Yawn 94.3." ......."Let's see...Fox has a 3.9 12+, so if we manage to get half of their listeners that will put us.......(scribble, scribble)...... that...will put us......(hit "enter" on calculator).....that will put.....us.......exactly.......where we are now."

Their take on classic hits seems a little different than 98.5....this looks to be more rock-leaning. Classic Hits is basically a sugar-coated name for oldies (CBS-FM, KRTH).

This would make them be in competition with Fox, B106, Steve, Magic....they would sure be brave to try it. But it would make a good sell with New 92. Who knows, this is probably just a stunt. They'll probably keep previewing until Thursday or Friday

I was wondering if it was a stunt too until I called the offices up and asked them about it. They pretty much said this IS the format, and that they really like the music. Then again, they could be lying lol.

???

Wait a minute, Maybe not a Happy New Year for Hunter with 94.3! Just read this off "The State" Newspaper web page WWNQ will play only the biggest hits, McKay said. And unlike Fox 102, all the programming on WWNQ will be transmitted by satellite and local radio personalities will not be part of the mix.
