94.3 WWNQ Stunting

"WWNQ will play only the biggest hits, McKay said. And unlike Fox 102, all the programming on WWNQ will be transmitted by satellite and local radio personalities will not be part of the mix". Boy with that thinking from the sounds of it Double O has pretty much said we know we can't beat Foxx, so we will just hook her up to the bird and let'er rip!!! That is the problem with radio now a days... cheap and uncreative... I am sure if they do make money the low overhead will be good for Double O, but will leave a lot to be desired with the OTA Product... CC1

So the question...will this have much impact on Fox 102 or Steve FM?

"Flashback" sounds more fitting for a dance station or something...that's what comes to my mind when I hear that.

Hmm. As someone on the sidelines. Carolinaradio, I would say hesitantly, yes. Eventually. Most likely. Anyone that is a listener of Fox 102 that prefers the pop oriented Classic Rock and most (if any) women will probably drift over in time. Just as the folks that like the Classic Hit stuff in the mix of Steve, but aren't too thrilled with the rest of it will likely drift over too. A quick mass migration? My gut says probably not. I'm just not feeling a great dissatisfaction with the previous choices in town. Obviously there must be research that says otherwise. Not really my genre of music, so I don't have a real gust instinct on it. The music is tight, there's nothing that sticks out as bad.

Wow , seems like a blown chance to make an impact on the Columbia dial.Question: How does The Drive in Augusta fair against the Eagle or Has Bad Dog out of Sumter made any impact against The Fox in Florence? Three years ago here in Atl. 97.1 The River came on and Stole what was left of 96rock. Then again three years into it and Cox is still calling it "The New" 97.1 The River.
Still based on their most recent numbersfor the Fox , Dave needs to freshin-up and give some fresh fire to the Fox.
Listening to radio now just doesn't compare anywhere close to what we listened to back in the 80's

Well I guess the one two punch from Double O is gone off of WCOS. No more two stations ganging up on one. I wish WWNQ well on their new format in this depressed market and hope it heads in the direction they want it to. Here at WLRE we are going to stay traditional to modern country mix, we still have two unused translator frequencies maybe we need to try and put one near Columbia, will have check into it.

According to All Access:

WWNQ Drops Country For Flashback
After a day of wildly disparate stunting, DOUBLE O RADIO Country WWNQ (94.3)/COLUMBIA, SC has flipped its decades-old format to Classic Hits "Flashback 94.3." OM/PD TYLER RYAN and the rest of the staff stays on.

I would guess that Glen is still employed.
