94.5 KEMA Three Rivers back on the air

Last night for a while I heard KEMA on the air again, broadcasting no sound. Now it's off, however. Went off in the middle of the night.

Yesterday, before heading to Austin for the Texas Association of Broadcasters convention, I drove from Houston to Three Rivers to check on the station. It was playing the Texas flavor of country music heard on the owner's other stations. Flat sound like a low bit rate stream.

Interesting. I didn't catch it with the stream up. Since last night it's on again, and with no audio.
I think they either need better Internet or a more reliable way to pull the audio there at the transmitter site, if the stream's going to drop out like that.

Reconsidered post. Deleted. Gotta keep Frank happy....

I see where you're coming from, man. I'll try to keep updates with just station info and changes as to what it's playing, to keep all the people who can't hear the station up to date. But I'm not even sure I should be doing that...

KEMA is now broadcasting Intermittent humming noises as if the tower lights are on and flashing. Still no music...

Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night.
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light...

Yeah, Mouse. I wouldn't get my hopes up. The fine folks of Three Rivers won't.

Humming noises, huh? Hmmm... Maybe somebody should notify the Three Rivers PD or the sheriff's department. Their tower is kinda far out in the middle of nowhere. See video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saqU7pd4BSY

Their engineer might've touched a hot wire and gotten zapped, and be laying on the floor unconscious and dying.

Well I would hope not..! :-O

The humming isn't very loud, in any case. I've heard other stations do the same thing at night so I don't think it's anything to worry about? Here have a listen. http://sndup.net/75n5
The audio switches to the 94.5 translator at the end of the recording, antenna moved.

Honestly I don't really care what goes on with 94.5.

I just liked the "Lonestar" format, and broadcasting style and wanted it to continue somewhere. It seems like they left the station, and I can understand why... They may want to get set up somewhere else...
