94.5 testing on their new stick

P.S. And WHY do they not let the listeners calling in requests mention the song over the air? Is that another VT quirk?
Apparently, they haven't been on the air long enough (yet) to start "taping" listener calls and playing those back, along with the listeners' requests. Once they have a library of them, they will play them back over and over. I remember another local station playing back the same call from some pizza delivery guy in Hermitage on successive Friday evenings! ::)

Of course, the trick is actually lining up such a call with the actual song being requested, which as someone here suggested, VT hasn't quite mastered just yet. ;D

...One complaint though: Chris, PLEASE stop talking over every nanosecond of the songs' intros! That is one facet of radio from years gone by that I DON'T miss! ::)

That's what I liked most about the heyday of Top40 radio. All the stations played the same songs. The only difference was what the DJs did. You MUST listen to Coyote Calhoun's WAKY Louisville Top of the hour ID for which he was famous.

I hear oldies stations playing those songs, but something is missing. It's the DJs, I tell ya, it's the DJs who are missing. Kids today can't find entertainment like that on iTunes.

Sure, bring back the DJs. But only the ones who know how to "hit the post," not the ones who proceed to mow down the damn post! That is NOT the sign of a good DJ. It's the sign of an egomaniac! ::)
