94.7 the block

Boonton is part of the MSA as well as Morristown and the rest of Morris County.
I did not say it was not. I said that in the northwestern area of New Jersey much is not in the MSA.

Survey areas are not based on cities. They are totally county based, and even split counties are done based on the county, with the deciding factor being listening by ZIP Code. In fact, there are a few counties split between two markets (Worcester County, MA for example) and two (San Bernardino County and Riverside, CA) that contain two markets plus a bunch of territory not in any market.

In the case of Morris County, the total population is just under 3% of the MSA, so trading much of it for areas with much more dense population is a no-brainer.

I was in Boonton (eastern Morris, right off I-287) earlier this week and noticed static on 94.7. I was stationary in my car at the time so I don't know how widespread the problem is.
It was breaking up in Morristown today, that's on a radio that gets Z100 at exit 90 on the Garden State parkway and the clean Empire signals down to 70.
The Empire stations were fine.
I will say, the music is right on for the market. It's a well done presentation. I think it would be beating the other two hip hop stations with a full signal, but honestly they compete with bls and ktu more so than them.

Happy birthday to The Block. A year ago today New York’s Country 94.7 moved to the HD2 and 94.7 The Block debuted.
We should give the station a cake. Lol 😆 🤣 not sure if they'll eat it or not but I'm sure the staff would enjoy it. Lol Sorry I had to be silly!

Gotta put SOMETHING on that signal.

Country was only billing about $2 million a year when the plug was pulled. There are numerous stations in non-PPM markets that bill more than that!

It's too bad Audacy wound up with 94.7 and not 95.5.

An excellent move was announced today; Nick Cannon's lame content has been removed from middays.

I'm glad to see station management has come to the realization putting him in that daypart was unwise.

It doesn't matter, the station has plateaued at a 1.5 share. They should be embarrassed.

Audacy jumped on the hip hop bandwagon over a year ago following the worn-out old belief that rhythmic music automatically means big ratings in NYC. But NYC does not need three hip hop stations while other formats are completely absent from the market.

Yep! Bring back Dance with a NY appeal.
