Does it have a 1.5 share
It's stock is selling for $1 a share. Do they have low rated stations? Sure they do. Every group has low rated stations.
Not every station can be #1.
Does it have a 1.5 share
Well you clearly have the answer for everything. I look forward to reading about your appointment as WXBK PD or perhaps Audacy CEO.
The outcome of that decision would likely be even lower ratings than The Block or alternative...and lower billing numbers than country.Yep! Bring back Dance with a NY appeal.
You think advertisers were specifically looking to make buys on this format? Does it appeal to particularly desirable demos? They saw country bill $2 million, and they asked their sales team what can you sell. The answer was classic hip hop.

Agree with your take. It is very easy to do some Monday morning quarterbacking and rip on it for a 1.5 share. But again, lets face the facts that in the beauty pageant numbers, it is consistently only about a share off from its main competition in the hip-hop space. That's really not terrible for what it is.A 1.5 share on 94.7 isn't that horrible given its challenged signal in some NYC Burroughs, and the fact the current format likely retained very little cume from the prior format.
Isn't The Block less than a year old? I think it is too soon to write it off as a ratings failure.
In demo, maybe it's performing better? I don't know the answer.
The addition of a well known LOCAL personality to middays is a positive sign. Nick Cannon sucks as a radio personality; I'm very happy to see WXBK cancel his show.
And for comparison, what are the demos for Country, in this area?I think they were part of the decision-making process. The median age is 34, which is younger than Hot AC, very broad range as far as race/ethnicity (44 white/26 black/37 Hispanic), male 43/female 56, so yes, I'd say that's sellable.

Actually if I remember correctly "Jenny from the Block" was the first song they played when they flipped from CountryMaybe thwy should just play J-Lo songs and call themselves "Jenny on the Block".
Thanks for the info.Fair question: Median age for country is 47, race/ethnicity is 90% white/4% black/8%Hispanic, and 45 male.55 female.
So the ethnic part of the demo really doesn't jive well with the New York area.
Thanks for the info.
Are the demos for classic rock similar to Country's?
Obviously, this varies a little by market. Just as country is not 8% Hispanic in Boston, but may be 55% Hispanic in San Antonio. In some places in the Southwest there are many, many later generation Hispanics who have the heritage, but not the musical tastes, of first and second generation Hispanic immigrants and their families. But there is no such lengthy heritage in Chicago or New York or Miami or even LA, but there may be in Fresno and Bakersfield.Classic rock is older (51) and more male (60%)
PLJ made good money until John Dickey ruined things. Cumulus' horrible company culture in the Dickey era repelled good salespeople.
An excellent move was announced today; Nick Cannon's lame content has been removed from middays.
I'm glad to see station management has come to the realization putting him in that daypart was unwise.
