94.7 Updates

John Foxx, current host just said at 4:11 about 94.7, "NJ, NY, CT, maybe, we'll try to work on it" and said Scott and Todd are "crowned" the owners. Hmm???

Huh? Try to work on what?

As of 4:25, signal is back to normal with a brief half second switch, and the HD is back! Could 5:00 PM be the magic time for the big switch???? I doubt it. Little static also like everyone else said.

Just another liner card handed to John Foxx. Typical corporate dialogue. Similar to the earlier solicitations for format suggestions during the Scott and Todd Morning Show. I really cannot stand that corporate-contrived "we care what you think" garbage. Any company that expends $40 million on certain assets doesn't care one iota about those assets benefiting anyone other than the corporation and its bottom line, and they already know what they will be doing with those assets.

It is obvious that Cumulus is using WPLJ and it's rather loud simulcast on WRXP to bring audience attention to 94.7FM, a station that has largely gone under the radar for nearly fifty years. This is very smart cross-promotion in this unique situation which I think will generate far superior results as opposed to typical stunting.

We are coming on to 5:00, so far Since You Have Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson, good signal, HD and RDS on.

I'm waiting... Here in (NH) Vermont...
I am at a Subaru dealership in clairmount NH and they are five finger death punch. Love it!

Did Cumulus have to do any equipment upgrades to 94.7? IIRC, I remember reading on the Philadelphia board that 106.9 WKDN's equipment was in terrible shape.

TOH at 5:02 and the shadowcast continues with Rihanna. Lets wait till' tomorrow!

There's probably about 20,000 hours of "Scott & Todd in the Morning" since 1991. They could run it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for over 2 years without repeating! ;D

Don't give them any ideas...

So you're saying McDonalds didn't bring back McRibb because of me? Boo.
Any reason is good enough for me.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

Is this a signal that a stronger country signal is coming that way?

Cumulus may have been willing to part with 106.3 because they intended for a Country 94.7 to cover that area, and didn't need it.

Or they may have included it in the deal because it enabled them to pay less for 94.7.

So I draw no conclusions from this.

The new WFME-FM 106.3 in Mount Kisco, NY is testing with a legal ID and some music. Sounds like its in mono and slightly distorted. Nothing like the old WFME.

I would appreciate it people would only post if they have new information to report. To say the least this thread has become unwieldy. Some of the same speculation has been posted here for months.

Thank you very much.

I'd love to hear some of the first ten years in full shows rebroadcast. not sure even i could stand a full station of it though :).

Does anyone know whether anything was said on the air before WDVY 106.3 stopped simulcasting WDBY Kicks 105.5 and went off the air for a few hours? Was it just abruptly shut down? I did not hear any statements about this on Kicks.
106.3 back on the air as WFME is now sounding quite clear in Westchester County, but is apparently still not yet rebroadcasting Family Radio's programming.

Let's just go ahead and play the Alternative Rock tunes.

New York deserves a good Alternative Rock station.

Hope the new WRXP will fill that void and do it right.
