94.7's Oldies Format After ABC is Sold

And if you don't, listen to something else. There's plenty of dial for all of us.

CKLW-FM in the mid 80s and again in the early 90s. They brought back the jingles, some of the personalities (or in some cases, new guys with old jock names)and music. Of course, the Morris WCFL effort.

The best rapping personality I ever heard on Chicago airwaves was B96's George McFly, and I'd be quite a far cry from that... lol

Really? For ALL of us? Even the people who listen to Dance music, and Active Rock?<P ID="signature">______________

To quote Linda Ronstadt, as played on Larry Lujack's last "rock" show on AM 1000 WCFL:

"We Need A Whole Lot More Of Jesus (And A Lot Less Rock & Roll)"

Crow on!

Then using your logic, if you want to hear Dance or Active Rock, listen to your records/tapes/cds. There is also Satellite Radio.

(Not as much fun, is it?)

Point is, Oldies was pulling a three share in this market before WJMK flipped to "Jack." The format is aging to be sure, but not "dead."

Yaknow, even though I am not a particularly religious person, I might agree with the possibility of more Christian stations - if they weren't run mostly "for profit".

Years ago I worked for a very short time at a small (then-)daytimer station in the north burbs, which was a Christian station, brokered on weekend mornings. Although I wasn't very religious then either, I was willing to respect their opinions, regardless. I bought into all the holiness right up until, on the same day, the GM told me that (a) the large chain of Christian stations was owned by a nice pair of Jewish fellows, and (b) that he (the GM) was "a businessman first and a Christian second".

Now you know why it's this man's opinion that GodRadio is mostly a scam.
