949 the Bull's Homepage is briefly redirecting to WGST and then switching back!

Maybe a look into the future....

I highly doubt CC would replace The Bull with WGST. The Bull's cume is very close to Kicks', and the demos are easier to sell than WGST's.

For the first time in its five-year existence, The Bull topped Kicks in the December 6+ ratings released this afternoon. Granted, 6+ is a beauty contest and the December ratings are generally throwaway numbers with Christmas music skewing everything (see: B's spike), but that's still a notable milestone and a pretty solid indication that The Bull isn't going to be sent to the scrap heap anytime soon.

What do you mean, The top 1 & 3 talkers in the United States on an FM potentially bringing in tons of numbers is not a scrap heap.... and who's to say that The Bull might move to 96.1? (The same amount of WATTS, 99,000)

Why would you "move" a station to only gain 12 feet in HAAT? WKLS 96.1 is at 984 HAAT and 94.9 the Bull is at 978 HAAT. WKHX 101.5 is at 1079 HAAT with a slight power (1KW) and height advantage (101 foot). Apparently it did not help them this rating period. Content and programming do matter.

What are the "top talkers"? I thought WABC 770 AM New York market #1, and WGN 720 AM Chicago Market #3 would be # 1 and 3.

RUSH LIMBAUGH is the #1 rated talk show host in the nation. GLENN BECK's show is #3 highest rated behind Sean Hannity. Thats what I meant. BTW, the most listened to talk stations are as follows:

1) KFI- LA
2) WSB- Atlanta
3) 77 WABC- NYC

And the point would be?

The Bull would move to 96.1 and therefore, WGST would move into 94.9. The Project 9-6-1 would move to 105.3 and elPatron would move to 96.7 and 92.3 translator.

How is this so hard to understand? The Bull would not be moving to the scrap heap.. they'd be put on a just as equal signal.

If the intention was to have Bull and WGST on the cluster's equivalent 100kw signals, there's no need for the intermediary step of moving Bull to 96.1 and throwing GST on 94.9. The only additional purpose that would serve is to confuse WUBL's listeners. Change purely for the sake of change = bad idea. If they really want to demote Project, 96.1 WGST and Project 105.3 is the way to go. Having said that, I have a gut suspicion Project will stay put and GST will go to 105.3.

wpb1999, I think you misinterpreted my "scrap heap" comment. I wasn't implying that news/talk inherently means disaster. I simply meant that if CC ditched The Bull format altogether (which is clearly not happening), they would be sending that name/format/etc. to the scrap heap. Its successor's performance would be a completely different subject. But again...irrelevant, because there's no clearly chance of that move transpiring.

WHY? Signals are equal. IF this is the case and WGST is going FM, why not put it on the 96.1 signal? I don't get your logic

So you want to re-package all the stations the cheapest way possible by giving them different frequencies and putting the word "NEW" in front of their ID's. (The NEW Bull, the NEW Project, the NEW elPatron... What a concept - don't tell Cox!)

Hi everyone! I just went to The Bull's website, and it's no longer redirecting to the WGST page & switching back. Instead, it's going straight to The Bull's website without the redirect to the WGST page. So, it looks like The Bull won't be flipping to a WGST FM simulcast after all. Therefore, the current FM simulcast will stay at the 92.3 W222AF translator. I checked the behaviors of Project, Wild, & El Patron, and they're all behaving the way they're supposed to. It's not even 12AM (12 Midnight) yet as I'm typing up this post. I'm not going to bother listening to any of the stations for a flip since it looks like a flip won't be happening at all. Have a Happy New Year as we go into 2012!
