And bought back Larry Kreuger. What would Felipe Alou say?

And did I see in a story from the CC Times over the weekend that Mychael Urban's moved over to the new station as well? Just what a station that doesn't want to be a Giants outlet needs, a Zito apologist. But OTOH, just means more time for Marty Lurie on the weekends!

Also the station has changed their calls to KGMZ.

I hate that callsign. As soon as I look at it I think "gingivitis" for some reason. The letters just don't look pleasant together.

And they dumped the half hour with Tony Bruno in the process. Not sure that was a smart move, but we'll see.

And The Eventual "KNBR-FM 107.7

Don't leave out the possibility of acquisition for KNBR or KGO-FM. Cumulus has less than 4 FM's, and I could easily see them making someone an offer they can't refuse. 102.9 and 93.3 seem like reasonable targets - even the 100.7/105.7 combo.

Would it be possible to put KNBR on FM at 95.5 or 95.9? Just really get into The Games face?!

No, that totally violates the spacing requirements. Besides, those frequencies are occupied by KGMZ's HD carriers.

The Game has the advantage of FM and the available cume for this type of format. I think they may have
miscalculated just how much of a core sports market the Bay Area is. This isn't Detroit, St Louis, or Boston.
The Bay Area fans have a lot more to do with status and class than pure sports. I've seen A's fans move
from the East Bay over to San Mateo or The City, suddenly they are sporting Giants gear. While East
Bay fans have a rep for being more hard core, I think it's still a relatively small group of people who
are interested in every move the A's & Raiders make.

No matter what the Game does, it will be quite difficult to ever be the go to station for the market's two
most popular teams. No stars on the Game, either, journey level talent (even the new staff). I am not saying
KNBR is full of pure talent, but you must be remarkably better as a new challenger to win the battle.
I don't hear it. Also, being all local can be a disadvantage, in that you must continue to hit the same topics
over and over. Unless, you have deep talent who can add a ton of personality, perspective & entertainment
quotient to their show. I wish them the best, Cumulus is a heartless empty machine.

For being a new station and trying to get people used to the new name of 95.7 The Game. It can be confusing for new listeners that hear the show called, 'The Drive'.

At first I thought someone messed up, when before going to a commercial they said, "You're listening to The Drive!" That was it, ...on 95.7 The Game.

(I know, I know, not to be confused with Bonnevilles former Classic Rock Station, 95.7 The Drive)
