95.7 the game

Fin...yes, and I say experts, not always meaning the hosts themselves BUT a good guest, like a baseball beat writer or hockey insider, etc...

And yes...they shouldn't tout the way they do in not taking calls and acting as if callers/listener's are dumb, that is poor judgement.

Very few former players make for good hosts, usually because they shy away from being critical of other players or their game 9in some cases) and lack knowdlege or really a care about other sports. Both stations have a few ex-jocks, and call me underwhelmed more by the former athlete's talk skills and knowledge, than a pro radio host who knows how to drive a conversation and create a connection.

Contrary to the need for more calls/callers...most listeners prefer to hear from the hosts/experts and not other callers.

Callers can add to a program, but relying on them is lazy radio, and more important bad radio.

95.7's issues are not because of a lack of caller/caller interaction...

In part they like mentioned prior are too hung up on trying to take shots at the competition instead of focusing on themselves.

Again listeners do not care about or for another station bashing competitors..that is radio from the 80's and 90's...and it does not work.

Focus on yourself...because ironically like in sports, when you focus too much on your opponent's game instead of your own, then they already have you beat from the shoulders up.
Only the commercials take shots at KNBR the hosts rarely if ever do it, other than being sarcastic about Krukaid and their Giant loyalty i.e. mac & murph every day interviews.

I agree at least on a personal level. I tune away once caller segments start.

I am an out of state listener, but I listen to 95.7 The Game on occasion, and I'm wondering? why can't this station gain more ground in San Fran?

Never EVER call it "San Fran". That's like saying "Bost" or "New Yor" or "Chicag". It's offensive.

Another no-no: Frisco.

Wrong, Frisco is used plenty by the non hipster non yuppie black, Hispanic, Asian etc, younger population. Who were born and raised in the city. Hang out in area's outside of Pacific Heights and you'll know this. "Frisco" is very common in Fillmore, HP, areas.
