95.9 STUNTING????

I think ranch fan has it! We know they've been working on the KJKB Jacksboro deal. How many deals can they do at once? This "revolution" has to be tied into that tower relocation change.
LKCM Radio Licenses, LP is just a group of small time broadcaster wanabe's that don't know anymore about radio broadcasting than the average man on the street and the only lessons thay have been getting in the last several years are from the "big boys" in the radio broadcasting business. That truly explains that they really don't know what the heck they are doing. All you have to do is listen!

Ok, maybe it has something to do with this...

I dont know much about this stuff but it looks to me like they are moving the tower. Looks like the people in the Stephenville area will be losing out!!!

Here is a link to the application...
http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws...xt=25&appn=101236758&formid=301&fac_num=31062

As I said, I dont understand much of this so if I am wrong someone please feel free to correct me.

No, this is not related to the move. The applications haven't been approved at the FCC. They were only recently filed. The KFWR move has already been discussed several weeks ago...

I never realized they had 3 stations covering all but north Dallas. They make it look good on their coverage map, but it seems like thier coverage map they made includes their fringe signal.

http://www.1069fmtheranch.com/cms/index.php?id=0,42,0,0,1,0

Their maps are a complete and total fabrication - way beyond fringe. In NE Dallas, Richardson, Plano 106.9 is absolutely dominated by K295BF, a translator for KYLP-LP. The translator has more power than the original license (can we all say "loophole"). On the rare occasions that 106.9 is open because that translator is down, KRVF is a very weak deep fringe signal - and I can hear KPHT "The Point" overriding them in some spots where they drop out. Most people in the area will just get splatter from KZZA - you need the adaptive IF technology to even get a clear shot at 106.9.

107.1 is covered by KDXX. I can occasionally get KRVA, but it takes an antenna with a good front to back ratio to get rid of KDXX. Certainly NEVER in the car.

Does 95.9 syndicate their programming on 106.9/107.1 or are they separate stations with the same idea?

I could be wrong but I think the two smaller stations are voicetracked from 95.9 in Downtown FW.

I think they have a different morning show....other dayparts are tracked from FW. But you hear a ton of remotes and local stuff for Corsicana, Kaufman, and the towns down thattaway. All in all, good, local radio.

The word on the street is that the station is flipping but too what? This is according to some very reliable sources. I think I may start a petition or something. I think the listeners should do something about that if they believe in the station. I would hate to see the station program the same stuff that is already in the market. I don't know but I as a listener wonder what is up because the website has changed all to red and they have added a countdown clock. They are running liners between every couple of songs that say the revolution is coming? What is in store for The Ranch is the real question?

LKCM Radio Group has acquired numerous stations in the recent years so could something drastic be in store?

Right now they're completely refraining from Calling it "95.9 The Ranch!"
its now
THe Revolution is Coming[static] Which side will you be on? KFWR Mineral Wells

Re: 95.9 STUNTING????Country or TOP 40!!!!

The Ranch 95.9 needs to keep Country format....signal coverage is all in Cow Country....The Ranch is a GREAT Station!!! Heard the Ranch 95.9 at the Wildercatter Ranch near Graham, TX. I think TOP 40 is very very bad idea for the station in cattle country. What is wrong with the PD and Station MGRS?????

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why The Ranch has http://www.kyhi.com/ as a registered domain name that points to their website?

Don't know, but it was registered a little more than four years ago (February 2004).

I'd bet it's simply to take advantage of anyone typing too fast who might be looking for KHYI (The Range.) Just like the morons who take domain names like "goggle.com" or "yhoo.com" or "radio-nympho.com" (ok, maybe not the last one) who hope for dyslexic folks or fast typists to mess up on their destination name.

Greed.... When one format doesn't bring in enough advertiser dollars, they'll flip it to another one and try again.
