So if "El Pacha" doesn't know English, its pretty good that he got a job at 96.3! (He wouldn't do so well on Z100 if thats the case) Disclosure:I try and avoid most "morning talk" unless its pure news, otherwise, I prefer music in the mornings, (Thank God for HD Radio)

This is now getting interesting. Before, everyone would jump to X the first book, and now, La Mega is fighting back. This is a good war since Hot and Power were neck and neck.

What everyone forgets is that this is the Holiday book... a period previously never even measured. It's of no use to buyers except for next year's Christmas buys... and of no use to stations as it reflects an anomolistic period that does not replicate.

The other issue being ignored while some participants in this dreary thread wave flags and defend themselves as DJs is that WXNY effectively grew total Spanish language shares by around 25% in the NY market. In other words, many people who were not listening or who seldom listened were brought in and are now listening. That benefits all Spanish language stations as it enhances the importance of the entire audience sector.

If one looks at the cume,you will see that La X has kept the same amount of listeners since they debuted on PPM. La Mega is still trying to regain their pre-PPM numbers. Which is all possible. I think there will be plenty of surprises this year in regards this battle. I predict one station will outdo the other by the end of the year.

Importantly X just won the 3rd month in a row. Middays, afternoon drives and weekends all belong to X. Morning is close but X still wins. Both Mega and X are doing poorly in AM drive with PPM----it's a story around the nation with morning shows.

No one is talking about SBSs 93.1 which is now fallen to a weak 3rd in Spanish.
Look at the NJ and LI numbers....X is up as the strong signal provides the first real competition to 97.9.
Univision must be very happy.

exactly...another thing that moreno is missing is that la equis was not going to stay up there almost in the 4 range. high ratings were due to the new station and promotion..I think the station will settle down at a minimum of 3.0. Also, these two stations will battle each other out for a long time. La mega is not alone anymore, it has company and that is something moreno is not seeing right now. everything is about el pacha, pacha, pacha..pacha is history my friend, the station is doing well without him.

as far as I know, they have beaten la mega for 3 straight months..now, that's a fact...I guess we have to wait until the end of this year to convince you that la mega has company..

well David Eduardo, the only complaint I have about the station is that they are playing the same music, mixes every single day..a lot of people are just complaininig about the same thing..it seems they don't do the live mixes, specially yaco, they are just re-playing same music.

well, el pacha and coco cabrera had 6 hours each saturdays and sundays.. el pacha worked also at the afternoon daily! the idea of playing non-stop music was to get rid of these guys! by the way, la x96.3 is a new radio station, more powerful than la kalle 105.9 fm, and the the numbers are already dropping!!
