Re: 96.7 K-Love NYC/CT
First, THANK YOU, R.D.P. Well said.
Now to share a few things that come to my mind about this comment...

Starving? LOL! If there was any demand for a CCM station there would have been one on the air long ago. Let's not forget the NYC metro area is probably the most liberal area in the entire country (San Francisco being up there too). This isn't the bible belt we're talking about. Even WAWZ that covers the rural/suburban areas of NJ is barely making the middle of the pack in ratings. I don't see how WKLV is going to do well covering mostly urban/suburban areas.
< - - - see the little byline, there, under my name? "20 year veteran Christian broadcaster". That's not a boast.

It means I've been doing this, and in this unique niche of Radio for a LONG time. I know a lot about it, and the audience. I have lived here all my life, so I know something about the area and the people. Trust me, when I say that these airwaves are STARVING for this, I am not talking out of my hat.
Were you aware of how much it cost EMF to buy 96.7? North of
$15 MILLION!

That's a lotta Pesos, my friend! For what? Basically, a standard "Class "A" FM signal. What this means is that stations, even "modest" ones, are EXTREMELY expensive in this market! That puts them WELL out-of-reach of all but the VERY wealthy or VERY well-funded organizations. EMF is large enough to be able to afford that, and I say, "God bless them!" They have been able to muster enough $MILLION$ to buy a station in this market!
Although there are many of a Liberal slant here, it is
NOT 100%! Even if there are only 2% Evangelical Christians in this market... that amounts to a 2% share of the #1 radio market IN THE WORLD! Do you know how FIERCELY stations in the NYC market compete for mere
TENTHS OF A PERCENT of this market? Well, EMF just about has the Christian market all to itself, now. A market (especially the majority of Fairfield County) that until now, was UNSERVED!
Rats... gotta run. I'll write more, later.
