96.9 The Beat Domain name registrations...

is there anything Michael Graham can do about his ads still being run?? does wtkk even care at this point?? this all lines up to a flip next week since the money show is going away as well its almost like a one by one break down of the station.

Could it possibly be anything other than a music format tightly focused on the 18-34 or 25-44 female or sports talk for the 25-44 male? I'm getting the feeling that nobody else matters to advertisers or radio anymore.

I wonder if we might soon hear this on 96.9:

"Da Pulse--Niner-Six-Niner. With Pebbles in the morning and extended Stopless Jamz All Day!"

I could see an urban or Rhythmic CHR format starting Monday night (New Year's Eve).

I could see that as well but how about a jammin oldies format?? i saw some where in California a station just switched to a jammin oldies type station. Pebbles could be apart of the morning show since she is getting older she might fit the stations demos.

Jammin' oldies didn't have legs in the early '90s. Why should it find success now, playing 40-year-old music instead of 20-year-old music?

Links to major WTKK-96.9 hosts on the homepage of the station's website have been removed (as of 5 P.M. EST, December 26th).

I was able to click on shows and they were still there oi thought there was a bar onthe left with the shows,as i've said before why is michael grapham still there onthe sight and promos?? lack of caring by the webmaster i assume.

It's christmas week, why flip the format now when everyone (market manager, sales manager, sale staff, etc.) is off. They'll probably do the flip next week when everyone is back in the building. Sure sounds like they're slowly dismantling the station - which makes me wonder why the flip didn't already take place.

I'd like to see a rhythmic type AC format that focuses on the 80s and 90s, no 70s. They may feel that's too risky as it may fragment the audience currently tuned into Magic.

You guys honestly don't think GM's going to invest in "personalities" for this new format, do you? I mean, who else do they have at WROR besides Loren & Wally? 92.9 is totally automated. Magic and KLB have jocks, but I doubt they will fully staff 96.9. I'm sure they will want to save a few bucks after having so many talkers and producers on the payroll for the last decade maintaining that two share. My guess is this station will be jockless...definitely to start, but like Amp, GM will be in no hurry to staff up until they decide if whatever their format choice is will stick.

I actually think you're wrong here. If it's true that Greater Media hired Cadillac Jack to program, they are serious about making this station succeed. That requires quality imaging, local personalities, and a top notch music selection. Perhaps that's why it's taking so long to confirm the flip and roll out the station. GM has been paying so many local hosts and producers at 96.9 for years, so any music format will likely cost them less. I could be wrong, but I don't think GM is about to take on KISS and Jam'n without having any local personalities. We'll see if they hired Pebbles, and then we'll know just how serious they are or are not.

I heard someone who sounded like Karen Blake on Mix earlier this week.

Karen Blake has been working at Mix since ODS flipped. Mostly weekends and fill-ins, sounding great, as always. Love that gal.
