97.1's Next Format... "The Rock You Grew Up With"?

Then with all that said, it could probably be in CBS' best interest to simply plug Adam Carolla into Jack-FM and take 97.1 in a completely different direction.

With the Chicago Jack's very bad experience with name live talent, I don't think that this would happen. Jack and a "real" morning show don't mix...

According to another thread (specifically this post) Tom Leykis will be dropped by his syndicator effective Friday, March 6.

I thought he's been self-syndicated for the past year.

Someone said yesterday that his numbers were up last book. Don't know if that's true.

Given the fragmentation of music tastes, and the fact that CBS already has three adult stations in the Top 10, I'd suggest moving one of the AM news formats to FM.

That concept was also tried with 'Jeff & Jer' at Star 100.7 (KFMB-FM) when it flipped from Hot AC to Adult Hits; they eventually left for KMYI-FM, which was re-christened as Star 94.1.

I don't think a live morning show at an Adult Hits station would work in LA either.

I would be shocked if KLSX changed formats. Their PPM numbers have been up the last several months in their target demos of men 25-54... and it has a lot of inventory available with the Talk format. It beats KFI by about a 2-1 margin in middays in some demos. In this economy, with decent demos - no need for a change.
