97.3

WTF? I hear a Warm 98 Christmas promo on WGRR: 30 Hrs of Continouis Christmas favorties and then I dont hear hear any Christmas music lol.

I'm sure there's a mix of CDs and MP3s going on in-studio. Cuts have to be added to the system - we're talking an entire library here. There is almost certainly conversion from carts/CDs/tape as well. Commercials have to air, agreements have to be honored, transmitter remotes have to be re-routed, music and production has to change hands. Don't forget that the advertisers paid for airtime and are going to get their product delivered. This all went down very fast, and it's not over yet. I for one plan to enjoy the little silly moments that are bound to crop up. Frankly, the relatively smooth swap is testament to hard work, and a few glitches can be expected. My hat is off to the chief engineer at Cumulus. That's a lot of work for one man.

As far as I know, neither Tom Kent nor Ernie Brown went over to Cumulus with the other air staff. Hard to say who from the part time staff will sign on either; that's up to new PD Keith Mitchell now. I expect some dayparts will be tracked until the slots are filled and everything stabilizes.

Keith Mitchell did a great job at the old MOJO 94.9 so I think he will do great here At least he got his old office back lol hes in the same building as the old MOJO 94.9 lol. I have also been hearing alot more Jammin Oldies type of music on WGRR since the flip to Cumulus. What I am getting is the format is going to be a cross between Jammin Oldies and Classic Hits from the 60's and 70's i wonder if those few 80's songs that used to slip through will be on WGRR. Tom Kent show i did not like. It sounded like a bad converted MP#@ with noise in it all the time. ( I hopoe you get what I am trying to say.) It just basically sound bad do to the audio being bad but the show itself was great. I am also hearing brand new promos for the station simular to the old MOJO 94.9 were they have the artists talking about the station.

I looked up the whois on wgrr1035.com and its registed to Scott Meyers created on May 29,2005 and the whois was last updated on October 30, 2006, expiration date May 29, 2007.

God it will be so nice to have the dj's back in the moning on WGRR so I don't one Beatles song after another. Dont get me wrong I don't hate the Beatles but they are being over played.

94.9 head-to-head with WEBN? Mistake. Why duplicate and go against a proven winner when you can put on a unique salable format such as: AAA, smooth jazz, rhythmic A/C, CHR/Rhythmic.

If 97.3's problem is its signal, then why would they put a country format on it? The signal doesn't get out far into the suburbs/country (at least not in the north end of the metro), which is where the country audience is. I'm not sure having a country flanker is even necessary. Cumulus can't put one on because of the non-compete. Radio One sure as heck won't do it. Clear Channel has a healthy stable of stations. Mix 94.1 can flank both Q and Warm, and CC doesn't want that void to be filled by someone else.

Anybody heard about what they are doing to staff these "new" stations? I haven't seen any job openings up on all access or any similar sites.

Well, let's see...there's a lot of folks who sleep on the lawn of City Hall from time to time, maybe THEY'LL work cheap.., or they can walk across the street to the Uganda Towers

Great...thanks for the "comedy." Now, does anyone else have a real answer? Are they going to hire or just let everything run on autopilot? I would think if they want to compete with WEBN they would have to have a few warm bodies in there.

WGRR's staff will remain, whcih is great, they are a great bunch of people. Look for Julie Evans and Kevin Michael to become a big part of what they do with 94.9 Those were the only two that remain from the "Everything Alternative" days. Please tell me Rover is on his way out...that show is so bad...his nasaly annoying voice and that girl? He's has to be sleeping with her, why else would she be on the show?

I'm interested in seeing what Entercom does with 94.9. It'll be tough to compete with WEBN if they flip to active rock, but if they focus on newer music and have a similar attitude as WEBN, they may be able to pull off some great male 18-34 numbers.

I never really listened to Rover, but it appears the only market he's doing very well in is Cleveland. Maybe they should place Opie and Anthony in their place. They're edgy enough to compete with The Dawn Patrol and have had a track record of obtaining great numbers from young males.

Has WGRR changes thier format slightly I am now hearing Rod Stewart - some guys have all the luck and that was originally released in 1984. I have been hearing a little bit more of hits from the 80's thrown in to the mix I though they were just playing songs from the 60's and 70's not 60's, 70's, and 80's but I geuss Keith Mitchell is changing it up a little bit to play more and more songs from the old MOJO 94.9. I know i had heard that song on the OLD MOJO 94.9 before.

I could really care less about what happens to Rover. I listened for a little bit this morning for the first time. I couldn't tell who was worse, him or Mancow. Maybe Opie and Anthony would do well, but I would never listen as I'm more of a Howard guy.

I know a friend of mine will be wondering what will happen to Loveline because of this change. I listen to Loveline every now and then, but frankly I think the show jumped the shark once Adam Carolla left.

So no job postings from over there, huh? Damn, I could use a job lead before another "Black Friday" happens. I guess there have to be some empty hallways in Cincy radio right now..

I just heard on 94.9 The Star a promo telling ppl that soon it will be wolf 97.3 and thats they can also listen to b105 but Iforget what it said exactly.
