975 WILI translator sold to Red Wolf.

I do Doubt it will become 'EEI, But Bolton where 97.5's Tower is, Is near Manchester and Vernon. Weak spots in 103.7 and 105.5's Coverage area. Although 105.5 is abit stronger in that area. I would like to hear Jammin' 107.7 on 97.5 personally and think that would make the most scence.

As Adam Rivers pointed out, the translator is currently scheduled to relay WMRQ.
From it's current location it can NOT relay WWRX or WBMW, as it is well outside the contours of said stations.
Unless Red Wolf sells it to a non-interest party (someone not affiliated with RW), it can only act as a "fill in" translator where the signal does not
extend beyond the contour of the primary station.
Now with that said, there is nothing that says it can't be moved to a different location closer to New London and provide fill in service there, nor that it can't be used to relay a WMRQ-HD2, playing a different format.

The Keen eye of Mr Fybush noted theyve applied to increase the power from 10 to 60 watts.

Here in New Britain, I usually get a weak signal of WALK-FM. If I move the antenna wire juuussssttt right, I can get a weak signal of the "other" 97.5 FM station. I think it will make a difference for me.

Around Southington and Meriden I get Walk 97.5 in clear for the most part. Wouldn't it be smarter to put the translator on a different station other then 97.5 with WALK being close?

Did red wolf move there transmitter off of West peak and if so where did they place it?

It's on West Peak but at severly reduced power due to the primary antenna failing.
They filed an STA for this a little while back to operate on reduced power while the antenna is replaced.
Being a directional station, the antenna replacement requires some red tape requirements from the gubment.
They protect 103.9 WRCN, 104.3 WAXQ in one direction and 104.1 WBCN in the other.

Ha! Funny! (LOL) They're not KDKA-AM 1020, are they? Seriously, I just meant they've been on West Peak for seemingly forever, even during their Magic 104 days.

Since the 80s I think Kevin. John Ramsey's website has a picture of what their old studios on Route 69 in Prospect looks like today. Their tower used to be in the back over there. It's kind of odd that the town of Prospect has allowed that building to remain boarded up and unused for more than 20 years. http://www.hartfordradiohistory.com/WMRQ__WURH_.html

I was on I-84 west this evening, coming back from Boston. I had my Panasonic AM/FM/CD "Walkman" set to 97.5 FM soon after the state line in Union. I briefly had adjacent channel interference from WCTY-FM 97.7 of Norwich around Ashford, probably due to the elevation. I got a solid signal of the Bolton translator around Tolland/Vernon and then a so-so signal to near I-291 West (Exit 61) in Manchester. :p

It doesn't matter what John puts on that translater, it'll just be cookie cutter radio, his specialty.

My friends on the Colonel Ledyard Highway tell me that the translator is in fact for WMRQ.

Fuller's just a mom 'n' pop Citadel.. dumb radio down as low as possible and convince people it's cool.

Doesn't Fuller have his fingers in a little station in Vermont or Upstate NY? I don't think the station is "Red Wolf" though.

I wonder if he's just going to take the translator north to fill in some holes... or has he secured the licensing for CT already??

reelyreal
Are you in Hartford? How do you know about Fuller? What will Fuller do with morning drive slot at WMRQ?
