975 WILI translator sold to Red Wolf.

I have a crazy idea, maybe there's a bunch of false info here about what's on the way for the HD-2. I know this will make a few people respond negatively and even call me names, but I think it's going to be competition for Hot 93.7. yes, I know how badly it failed before, but CC did it wrong and besides, this is a just an HD-2, it's not like it's expected to catch on. I do like the idea that they are using the translator to relay something other than a main program, nice loophole there guys.

I'd be willing to bet that's the plan. Simulcasting HD2 signals on translators has been going on for awhile now. There are two or three stations in Keene, NH doing this. In Atlanta, Cumulus is doing alternative rock on one of their primary station's HD2 signals and simulcasting it on a translator. That translator actually gets ratings, albeit nothing like the full signal FM's. Considering 97.5's limited reach, a niche format is probably their best bet. A younger skewing Spanish language format (a tropical/hip-hop hybrid ideally) could actually peel a share away from WZMX and the various AM's. That would be enough to generate some sales. It's no surprise that WMRQ HD2 and the 97.5 translator are stunting at the same time. Relaying the main signal would be a waste for Red Wolf. There's too much signal overlap. Look for it to happen.

At 7:45 AM, I only heard Spanish tropical at WMRQ-FM HD2. I'm guessing it's the final format now.

How does this add to the diversity of Hartford's airwaves when WZMX is doing the same thing on its HD2?
