I've noticed that 97X has been playing more early 2000's and 90's Alt Rock lately mixed in with the newer stuff. I like what I'm hearing. I love the newer stuff but also like hearing older stuff on the mix. Keep up the work Cox.
Doesn't suprise me to much however with the launch of Hot 101.5. I mean if I'm not mistaken 97X and the now-defunct Point were sharing audiences to an extent. The Point playing 80's and 90's Stuff and 97X playing entirely new music and 2000's. The Point attracting 97X's upper demo as well as people who want to occasionaly listen to older rock tunes. ( But don't want to listen to the heavier Active Rock- Like Me.) Heck both stations were even sharing personalities. Oh and checking Facebook Corey Dylan is still unemployed and even doing a blog on how to find work. Do radio companies believe in loyalty to long-term personalities. (Without the controversy.)
FYI- I know I'm going to hear that the stuff on 97X is nerd crap. However I am a nerd so saying that doesn't faze me.
