Here's perfect opportunity to finally bring progressive talk radio to the Greater Portland/Midcoast area.

umm I doubt Bob would flip WJTO, the FM translator has to rebroadcast the AM 24/7.

In other news, Light of Life sure likes to overprice it's translators: 100k for 98.3 in Freeport, 75k for 102.3 in Biddeford (that moved to Sanford). The southern end of W-Bach on 104.7 (an A but still a full power commercial FM) went for 150k.

Hopefully in mid-to-late December. 80 watts of good music.

Congratulations, Bob! 80 watts will do quite nicely on 98.3 . Will you be running Stereo? A nice Optimod would really add a little "UMPH" to the coverage area! ;) Again, congratulations Bob!

So what's next -- WJIB FM 96.3 Cambridge/Boston?
Why not! There is really no reason for 'GBH to have a repeater for WCRB/99.5. They cover the same area just as well with the primary. I think it would be great to get 'JIB on that repeater. Hey, 'CRB has multiple platforms to serve the Classical audience including internet, WGBH/89.7 HD2 and a nice 50,000 watt signal on 99.5. But, 'GBH generally just builds stations, not sell them.

Agreed unless people are getting problems due to high buildings? Wasn't that the intention of
doing WGBH on 96.3? I would think it's fine for most people, though.

Until someone decides to put a pirate next to them...

>>I live in the Ashmont neighborhood of Dorchester and most of the time the WCRB signal is completely overwhelmed by a gospel/hiphop station which broadcasts on 99.7. I have not heard them actually announce call letters, but they do say they are located in Boston. --WCRB reply:
>You are not the first person to write us with this concern about 99.7. This is an unlicensed pirate station. We have contacted the FCC with an official complaint, and they are currently investigating this. I
