98.5 The Beat

Over the past several months, The Beat has been outperformed(female demos 18-34) by KXXM and KTFM.

Mornings
Not sure if it was yesterday or Thursday morning but I heard Xavier interviewing Rick Ross....ummm boring. It's clear why Kidd Kraddick-Mix 96.1 and the one man morning show @ KTFM have created further distance from #8 ranked morning show @ The Beat. Let me add that I am huge fan of Xavier and Biggie Paul but the playlist is outdated and it shows in the numbers.

The Beat now reminds me of when KTFM was @ 102.7 and they didn't change with the times. Of course, we all know what the end result was......

Time for a PD change? Consultant change?

Who's the PD now? Homie Marco, right? I think I might of read he's the one overseeing KXTN and KGSX, too. If that's the case he's awfully busy.

Just found out that the Xavier's World morning show heard on KBBT is now simulcast on KESS 107.9 in Dallas. Not sure if this means the show will no longer be aimed specifically at San Antonio, but it will be sad if it does take a national approach to a morning show.

Over the weekend I heard Hamm and Robbie Rob on 107.9.
