989 flip?

The New 989 Generation X is whats in the sweepers.

The station is growing on me....its refreshing from the AC smothering radio stations in this town.

I leave town on business for one day and look what happens!

I am a child of the 80's and enjoy listening to AT40-The 80's with Casey Kasem on Saturday mornings.

Now where am I supposed to go??? I just don't get it.

I am a listener without a home....

iPod/mp3 player is not the answer. I am not aware of an "AT40-The 80's" podcast.

If I want to listen to my finite set of songs, I can do that anytime. It's the things that I cannot download/subscribe to that I will miss from the radio station broadcast.

Guess I was expecting a huge outcry over the loss of KIM. Lol. Three pages, and not a single post demanding the return of John Tesh, or Ryan Seacrest. Kind of demonstrates why they're gone.

I refused to listen simply because I thought "Kim FM" was about the most femme sounding station name in the world. It would have been embarrassed to be caught listening to John Test with the windows down in the car. ;D

The best thing about the flip IS the departure of John Tesh and Seacrest!

Some segments of grapvine were indicating that Seacrest will be the new Jill Bucco. Or were they just smoking grapevine?

Huh? Is Entercom STRIVING for a 1 share for FM 100? Is a 2.2 too much?

Gosh, Kim FM had a morning show featuring a gynecologist with no radio background.

I can't believe they weren't pulling a ten share!

The last month or so I heard less of Dr. Radio. Thought I heard Bev Hart on with Tom P?

I'm having a hard time with hip hop transitions, otherwise I like it. but it's new. and yeah, I never wanted to admit I was listening to "Kim". It's like admitting you like chick flicks. pleeeeeze ;D

when a radio station puts on ryan seacrest for hopes of ratings......not only is it pathetic its being willingly ignorant.

God I LOVE MEMPHIS RADIO!

They playlist is growing. Still hearing allot of repeats way before they should play again but there is lots of stuff that I have never heard on the air at all in Memphis. I am pretty sure no station ever played Collage - I'll Be Loving You. I'm still listening for some Stevie B tracks.

I really couldn't stand to listen to KIM but I have had to open the roof and turn up the radio up loud a few times over the past couple of days.

I sort of hate the sweepers though.

Brilliant. First they promote that they're commercial free, except they forget to take out the commercials, then they let their biggest competitor grab all the good url's. Who's manning the station, asleep at the wheel?? They'll probably get it together but it's a sloppy start.

I often wondered why in the world would they would alienate 50% of the market right off the bat, with that branding. They were trying to emulate the Jack-FM brand but only to females? But Jack-FM's audience is largely female anyways!?

As far as the new station goes, I like it! I have often complained on this board about the lack of diversity on Memphis radio, and well, this is quite diverse. It's a great "Plan B" alternative to flip to when your station plays a song you don’t like.
