A lot of happy talk about the frequency and what could be...but what is going to happen is that Cumulus will own the frequency and all of the other Citadel properties in Memphis by the end of the year.

If you would look at the history of Cumulus and what they have done in markets such as Nashville, they have constantly changed formats on 97.1 because they cant find a format home. Secondly, PD's come and go about every 6 months and the station is mostly tracked from out of the market.

It's nice to dream about what might be, but Cumulus is looking to minimize expense and maximize the revenue stream. After all, they are taking on huge debt to buy Citadel.

I think I might disagree with you there. I can immediately think of some folks that may be cajoled into possibly helping out - Rick Tarrant and Rob Grayson come to mind right away. Maybe a couple more.

You could be right. Operative word there is "cajoled."

I know EXACTLY what you mean JR!
I made it out before EMF made their Memphis appearance. Although I did realize that with the paycheck I was making at KSUD I could not support my bad habit - commonly knows as eating for survival! ( BTW neither does my Divinity Degree from seminary either  )

DTW,

When were you at KSUD? I did Sunday mornings over there from 1997-2000.

Fall 87-88 I was the very 1st 7-midnighter when they were OK'd to go from a daytime to 24hrs - although E.Blackburn would sign on at 4:45 am and I played "Be still and Know" at 11:57 and signed the station off at midnight.

Right now K-Love shows a 2.0 12+ with a cume of 66,500. Thats half the cume 98.9 has at present. It will be interesting to see if the number climbs much now that K-Love has city grade signal over all the important areas of the city for them.

Oh wow, I completely forgot that I used to have to sign-in! The benefit from the FM signal was that we got an influx of computers and automated software, so once EMF saw that Praise FM was doing well and decided to eviscerate take it over, we were able to go 24/7 on AM.

this talk thing is so stupid. all right wing, regurgitated crap from Limbaugh. good God...
plus Ferguson does nothing but lives spots for businesses he sold to fix up his house... roofing, granite, cabinets.
pathetic.

Is this a description of the morning show or the "about me" section of a job application?

The show represents a full spectrum ranging from breaking investigative reports in real-time to entertainment news, financial news, interviews, commentary and point vs. counterpoint.

The show features live interviews on breaking news as it happens. America's Morning News has become the "go to" place for many important current and past government representatives and newsmakers who have used their interviews on the show to break news, including several national-level politicians who have chosen America's Morning News to announce their candidacy. America's Morning News also features breaking international news stories as they develop with interviews from sources close to the stories.

America's Morning News breaks stories that matter to the American public, the hosts are passionate about holding the powerful to account and are committed to unearthing the stories that matter most to Americans, during morning drive, at the dinner table, by the water cooler and inside their pocketbook.

America's Morning New is a unique morning-drive radio news show second to none. Combined with radio's ability to give the time and context needed to flesh out breaking stories makes for a powerful winning combination in talk radio.
