99.7-The Fox' "Classic Rock 600 Weekend"

Yeah, agreed Quadraphonic

Artists didn't stop writing & recording great Rock songs 25 years ago!

So, why not add some new tunes to the mix?

There are plenty of "Classic Rockers" that play at least a few tested & researched new tracks to make the station sound at least somewhat up-to-date.

Personally, I think the demise of the Fox began when Clear Channel purchased 106.5 and 96.1. When CC had 3 stations, the Fox was fine. 106.5 just isn't the same (though most of the personalities are intact) since that point. And I think there has been enough said about 96.1.

Ok, I'll give you Springsteen and the stones, maybe U2. Who else is there that fits "classic rock"?

The nature of Classic Rock is not about the artists - it's about the songs! Just because a classic artist has a new song there is no guarantee that it is or ever will be a classic!

I guess if you want the Fox to be called a classic rock or a classic hits station, then you ahve to expect those songs from the seventies from those artists that you keep saying you are tired of, and look at the demographics you are tyring to aim at. I am not saying not to broaden your play list, but yopu also have to realize that you are dealing with Clear Channel and their narrow play list.
