a) we have dueling threads about this at the momentBased on "money" or "las vegas" or "bet on it" clues in the stunting... sports/sports betting radio coming Monday?
The stick has been a ghost of itself for a while. From Insight: "The station is currently stunting with a loop teasing “The most unique radio station in the Bay Area is coming on Monday. You can bet on it”. The sweepers include song clips referring to gambling and making money."
What a waste of the 810 stick.
For at least a decade. The stick has been a ghost of itself for a while.
This is just plain insulting to any intelligent listener
Three if you count the RBR-TVBR Buzz Stream post.a) we have dueling threads about this at the moment
Reading the Twitter replies sheds light on the outgoing KGO demos: “Listened for 60 years”, “Listened for decades”, “Listened for eons”, etc. And those same tweeters talk about their parents “rolling in their graves.”
Probably past time. I remember when WABC dropped music in 1982, people interviewed remarked how sad it was, while also revealing they hadn't listened to WABC for 8 years.Reading the Twitter replies sheds light on the outgoing KGO demos: “Listened for 60 years”, “Listened for decades”, “Listened for eons”, etc. And those same tweeters talk about their parents “rolling in their graves.”
Perhaps it was time to dump the geezers?

Is it weird that they are not moving KSFO to the strong 810? Or is the real world difference of 560 and 810 not really that much?
I think Sports Betting may be the number one advertiser in states like mine where it's legal. It may be a huge "bet" whether or not California approves it.What happens to the format if California voters continue to reject sports betting? Is there enough of an audience of people who are betting illegally for it to work? Don't forget, the illegal bettors are doing their wagering through bookies or foreign websites, neither of which can advertise on American radio. The tout advertisers won't mind being on KGO because they bear no responsibility for how the listener uses their analysis and tips. But ads for betting services? Sorry, no customers here.
