A day in the life of a lamptimer

And last but not least, what time and day will the Kookie Monster strike again? I could have sworn I heard the winner is to redeem their mystery prize at the Buckeye Media Hut lobby.

A Jeffmo Bag awaits the grand prize winner when the Kookie Monster makes his next appearance on Lumberyard 14~Forty. Who knows what kind of goodies you'll find in the bag?...anything from a bunch of humbles to a gen-you-wine KAZG bumper sticker! So it may be raining where you are, but when you're at the Buckeye Media Hut it's always a Sunny 97 Day with plenty of worn out oldies playing full blast.

A Jeffmo Bag?! I have always wanted a Jeffmo Bag all my life. I wonder if it includes a white t-shirt with a picture of a fez on it? Regardless, thank you to the Middle Eastern Men of the Media for stepping up and sponsoring this phenomenal prize for the "When will the Kookie Monster strike again" contest!

Ma Belle Amie, I'm in love with the Lamptimer!

put Walk Away Renee by the Four Tops into Goldmine rotation? Sure beats the distorted and indecipherable Left Bank version. And if Mrs G is in a good mood, tell her Mr G's theme song (My Way) should be given a rest.

Merci beaucoup,

Los Buckeye Boyz

Take a number. I need to talk to Mr. G big-time!

As long as "Strangers in the Night" stays!

We think that's a mainstay of Mrs G's, so no problema!

doo be doo be do...dah dah dah dah...etc

Is the morning jock talk show gone from the Lumberyard, or is it just "on vacation"?

Again this morning (around 9:00) it was music from the Goldmine.

I sincerely hope so! It'll be nice to have our Goldmine oldies on the ride in to work every morning.

Looking at the "always accurate" schedule on the KAZG website, though, there is no indication that the show has been taken off the lineup. See here: http://kazg1440.com/?q=node/2 Maybe "The Positive Side" is in intense negotiations to keep the show on the air! ;D

Also, looking at "The Positive Side" website, there is nothing that mentions their show on KAZG. But, to be fair, I've never visited their website before so I don't know if it ever mentioned the show since the website seems to promote their television show on 3 TV. See here for more information: http://www.positiveside.tv/

So curious fans of the Lumberyard want to know, is "The Positive Side" gone? If it is, what's going to take it's place? My vote is for an actual morning show with a live DJ that spins our favorite hits from the Goldmine. Is Bill Gardner still available? ???

Paging Dr. Akbar: Sounds like your wish is the lamptimer's command!

A tip of the fez from Los Buckeye Boyz to the Goldminers! The Foure Tops version is more gooder than the Left Banke and you can understand what Levi Stubbs is singing. Now would it be too much to axe for Still Waters...or is that too Seventies for Lumberyard 14~Forty?

And...Shake Me, Wake Me (When I'ts Over) from '66 was also spun by the Lumberyard
in the 7 PM quarter-hour tonight.

The Nurse and I caught the Gumpdusky carrier dump Thursday night around 7:45pm. Our beady little ears caught another worn out oldies station on or around the same frequency. As the Goldminers turned in for the evening, we were treated with Seasons In The Sun by Terry Jacks. Needless to say, Nurse Jeff and I quickly exited the 14~Forty frequency!

Aww man. Not on the Buckeye Boyz' list. :( The guitar intro is the best part of the song, though!

The KOOKIE MONSTER struck this afternoon at a very unusual time today!! One NEVER knows-- just as the lamptimer!

In our "When will the Kookie Monster strike again" faux contest for next week, my guess is... Tuesday, July 19, 1:36pm.

Reasonably close..."Kookie" vocalized juuuust before 7:30 tonight.

And, just a few minutes later, BS&T's Spinnng Wheel was spun--the full LP version,
not the horrible 45 edit!

The lamptimer was reset again, resulting in an amazing carrier dump on Monday
(July 25)...at 7:45:00 PM! Tue, Wed and tonight (Thu) were each :11 later than
the previous night.

That 11 second lamptimer drift benefitted Lumberyard 14~Forty on Thursday night. The Gumpdusky carrier dump occurred at least two minutes after KFuNN powered down to a hundred watts. Hmmmmm...why is it during summer months 15~Tin observes local sunset, but during winter months they keep the full 22kw xmttr on well after local sunset? In spite of the drift, Nurse Jeff and I think the Goldminers do a better job with their lamptimer than the Golddiggers at KFuNNwith theirs!

You said it, Good Doc!

Plus, on Monday there was an actual Kookie Party with Edd "Kookie" Byrnes music for fifteen minutes or so! Goldminers are the ginchiest.

There was yet another Kookie treat today around 1:30 P.M. when the Lumberyard played Kookie's ABC song, entitled, "'A' You're Adorable (The Alphabet Song)." Another golden nugget from the Goldmine!

With all these Kookie songs being played on KAZG, one has to wonder which artist is next for KAZG's "Lamptimer Album Cut." Will it be Mrs. Lumberyard's favorite artist, Frank Sinatra? Or, even better, maybe it will be a complete discography of that great, slightly crazy, 60's artist from New York, humbly entitled Napoleon XIV. Personally, I'd love to hear his 1966 classic entitled "They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!" Definitely a song worth spinning over at the Lumberyard, especially in this inferno heat. Can Mister Miner 49er add that nugget into the mix? ;)

Must be the heat, as Nurse Jeff and I can't believe this post has been read over 40,000 times! That's almost double the number of postings from the Old Gringo out in his el Lay hut. And even more incredible, is Gumpdusky's sister station in Seattle, KKNW, is now running Radio Khushi's hindi hits along with Lumberyard 14~Forty. Hmmmm...wonder what kind of lamptimer they use?

And what's with last Friday, where the song playing at carrier dump time (7:45:04,
IIRC) was (...wait for it...) Brown Eyed Girl. Sounds too suspicious to just be a song
that was randomly scheduled. I think the board posts are being monitored over at
the Lumberyard. ;)
