A day in the life of a lamptimer

...I think the best way to celebrate would be for everyone who has posted on this thread to get together for a barbeque over at Dave Pratt's house the Buckeye Media Hut. Now that would be a true celebration of the Lumberyard! ;D
That could be an earth-shattering, haboob-inducing event!

Maybe we could get Liz Habib to host this haboob-inducing event? At the very least we need to invite Mrs Gumpdusky and have Nurse Jeff do his Sinatra karaoke version of My Way. Undoubtedly, she'll think the Nurse is the ginchiest!

Not to mention, the key event of the evening would be to get a glimpse of said Lamptimer -- in action.

I can remember as a Teenager biking down the canal and seeing the Majestic 1440 Tower and thinking it was pretty darn cool. Lived over by Los Arcos Mall at the time. Ahh Los Arcos Mall, loved that Pancho's they had there. Also got stuck in the Elevator that went down to the Theater. Was only for about 5 minutes, but to this day I'm afraid of elevators thanks to Los Arcos Mall. Opps I'm rambling.. Ahh yeah that Majestic Tower.. Ok I had to help reach 100 pages :)

Wow.. I got the first post on the 100th page. And I wasn't even trying.... It is an Honor I will keep for as long as I live ;D

The next milestone is surely just around the corner: the 1,000th reply in the thread.

While I am a child of the 80's, the first radio that was handed down to me as a kid was an AM radio, so my first exposure to KOPA and KZZP was at 1440 and 1310, respectively. (and shall we pour some out for K-15 during its modern rock experiment and later, its morning simulcast of KDKB?)

Viva la lamptimer!

And a Tip of the Fez to you, Shon! We're inviting you to the annual Buckeye Media Hut Homecoming this October as our special guest where you will be introduced to thousands of lamptimer lunatics. To mark this special occasion, the Lumberyard 14~Forty Goldminers request you lip sync their favorite worn out oldie. Please view this instructional video Nurse Jeff made to ease any stage fright butterflies you may have: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=119J9ON2HBA

While simpler minds ponder why Dave Ramsey thinks driving a cab is a career path, the Buckeye Boyz are contemplating what will happen on September 1st. That's the day we learn whether the new Lamptimer at Lumberyard 14~Forty can accurately turn on the xmttr at 6:15am and dump the carrier at 6:30pm (music in progress, natch). The Gumpdusky Goldminers are a little slow on the update and have the reputation of sometimes taking three days to adjust the Lamptimer to the new monthly sign on/sign off times. However an insider has told Nurse Jeff and me this new Lamptimer is state of the art and top of the line - implying it costs more than $15.00. We'll see what happens on 9/01 ::)

Or will the Lumberyard sign on pop on first at 6:00 AM with its PSRA power level?

However an insider has told Nurse Jeff and me this new Lamptimer is state of the art and top of the line...

But our new, improved lamptimer does both the mysterious power drop (just after 7 PM)
and the sign off carrier dump 14-15 seconds earlier every day. State of the art?
