A day in the life of a lamptimer

Maybe they're preparing for a flip to stoner hits as "Maricopa Gold."

hmmmm....has possibilities. Kookie will be replaced by Brewer & Shipley and Radio Marley takes the place of Radio Sri. Now if we could pry those brownies away from the Goldminers and get them back to work!

What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is a goin' on at Lumberyard 14~Forty after Radio Sri? There's this four or five second acoustic guitar riff that is cut off and repeats itself over and over. This has been going on for several days this week and Nurse Jeff and I are somewhat concerned that Gumpdusky aint paying attention to what's going out of that new Nautel (and KDKB HD~Two). Perhaps we can persuade one of those many displaced ND's from KT'R to kick some serious booty canal side at the Goldmine and bring on more of those worn out oldies!

That's a staff problem, not a problem with the transmitter... ;)

I'll say it again: everyone who cared is no longer there. Sad. Pray Sri doesn't use the 7 dirty words after his show is supposed to be off the air...

Friday night was weirder than a glance in the Media Hut mirror! Around 6:55pm a Hindi Hit from Radio Sri was overpowered by The Champs' Tequila (and yes, that is the Old Gringo at the end of the song). So up until the time Lumberyard 14~Forty dropped to 52 watts, the Nurse and I heard both wornout oldies and Radio Sri at the same time. YIKES! It really got interesting when Carole King banged out the piano intro to One Fine Day and some Bollywood wannabe was warbling in the background. Hopefully the Goldminers get this all straightened out in time for Mrs Gumpdusky to enjoy My Way without the way of Radio Sri competing with the Chairman of The Board!

It is time for a book or movie on the lap timer. 50 shades of the laptimer ;D

here, here! I'll have Nurse Jeff beg KOOL Lauren to make a sequel to her infamous video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1xhfbRxqyI This time around, inquiring minds would like to see the new Nautel, the new ATU, where in the canal the lamptimer resides, and catfish (note the lower case "c").

Create just one more new thread about the same thing (Tim & Willy) and win a replica lamptimer, while supplies last!

...plus the Lumberyard 14~Forty Goldminers will throw in dinner for you and your domestic partner at Chick fil A by correctly guessing when Tim'nWilly return to KNIX

I feel so cheated by the Lumberyard's cutting back to 52 watts fifteen seconds
early tonight. After all, starting tomorrow (August 1) it'll be five gallons "only"
from 5:45 AM-7:15 PM.

Next thing you know, it'll be September and time to fire up the PSRA again! ;)

Aw geez, Gumpdusky cheated us out of fifteen seconds of day power again!

Powered down at 7:14:45 PM. I guess we should be glad they got the times
"adjusted" for the first day, but... ;)

At least we can still complain about the "new" lamptimer!

I ain't gonna complain...I can still hear them at 52 watts from Val Vista & University. By the way, did you realize that Edd "Kookie" Byrnes celebrated his (gasp!) 79th birthday? On July 30th, I believe...

I just stumbled across this thread, mainly because of the title. Four years?? Does Lumberyard 1440 stream? I'd like to listen in Tennessee.

.."just stumbled"? or did you fall and can't get up? Most people fall on the floor when they realize how long this thread has lasted and how much of R-I's bandwidth it wastes ;)

No, Lumberyard 14~Forty doesn't stream at this time. However they're on KDKB HD2 and have a pretty useless web site: http://kazg1440.com/

Guess you'll just have to mosey on out west and catch the Goldminers in action. But if you come at night, be sure to pitch your tent along the Crosscut Canal at Thomas for better reception!

The preceding opinions reflect the twisted thinking of Nurse Jeff and me and have no bearing on reality. As Mac Watson said recently on KT'R "...opinions are like arm pits, and everyone has one." We just happen to have four!

*gasp* with the multiple new sports networks launching in the fall.... Could 1440 consider a new format?

Jocks instead of Goldminers? YIKES!!

A more likely candidate for a new sports network would be the Gumpdusky Ancient Modulation flagship station, KDUS 10~Sixty. With almost 10 times the night power of Lumberyard 14~Forty, this station can be heard in a much larger area than KAZG. But then again, a back-firing Gremlin can probably be heard in a larger area than KAZG

Here's an interesting thought from the Middle Eastern Men of The Media: TMISU can lock up even more sports programming by kicking Gospel off KMVP and resurrecting Sports Parkinglot 8~Sixty. The call letters have something to do with sports and if there's a coverage conflict on 6~Twenty or 92~Three, then ASU women's volleyball games can be heard on 8~Sixty.

Like we say at the Media Hut - there's nothing wrong with a monopoly if you own it!

Keep the worn out oldies on Lumberyard 14~Forty, the all day and night Goldmine playing 14 in a row!

Yeah, I can see that '76 Gremlin going over the side of one of the Papago Buttes as the good Doctor and Nurse engage in their never-ending hunt for the elusive Lamptimer.

The Nurse and I checked our manual and AMC does NOT recommend off-roading a Gremlin! As far as that elusive Lamptimer goes, perhaps it's not located at the Tower of Power site along the canal bank afterall! It could be in the Londen Tower where Lumberyard 14~Forty maintains it's Gold Mine and corporate headquarters. We're thinking of sending KOOL Listener Lauren to Camelback & 44th St to check it out...and bring us two Big Gulps from the Circle K!

So, did AMC ever recommend ON-Roading a Gremlin?

Earth to KAZG, earth to KAZG, you have left the Radio Khushi Radio Sri feed running. Both the Goldmine oldies and the Radio Sri looped theme music are playing simultaneously causing there to be an Indian theme to our usual Goldmine oldies. Is there nobody at the Sandusky Phoenix studios monitoring this? Looks like we'll have Radio Sri Goldmine oldies all weekend! ::)

Trying to pick out the giant 52 watts through the ether, but it sounds like this
big goof is still going on at 11:48PM!

Can someone call the K-Slacks hotline and tell the jock? Or is there no one at
the Londen Center this late on a Friday night?

If that doesn't work, bribe the person behind the counter at the Londen Center Circle K to knock on Gumpdusky's door. A hog dog that's been under the heat lamp for 48 hours and a Polar Pop will probably do the trick!
